It's true, though. It's why I never get involved in religious discussion, and if I'm ever strong armed into talking about my beliefs, I lie about it and try to get away asap. A lot of religious people be hostile as fuck.

I tell people I don't discuss my beliefs and people are ok with that. If not, I'll just tell them I'm not talking to them about it and will leave.

I know it's true, and it honestly is sad. I'm personally lucky enough to live in an area where it doesn't come up as much.

I remember when that ugly horseface woman that ran for the GOP nomination was on Colbert or something, and she was asked about Ben Carson saying he wouldn't be comfortable with a Muslim running for pres or something like that.

She said something like "I think a Muslim could be a fine president, as long as you have a faith!" which garnered thunderous applause. Literally said anyone but an Atheist, and it was completely socially acceptable.

Probably a solid argument for that.

I don't understand the reasoning of theists who think you have to have a belief system in order to be a good person, a good leader, etc. etc.

Some comments on the infographic:

1. I'm pretty sure most of those 13 countries with death penalties for atheists have those laws for any non-(insert state supported religion) people. I don't think there are countries with laws like "It's okay to be Hindu, Muslim, Christian, or Jewish, just as long as you aren't atheist!"

2. Why does the infographic try to say "People think atheism is worse than *things that we're supposed to think are bad*" with things like "Someone who has used marijuana" or "Doesn't have a college education"?

3. Isn't it weird that 65% of people would rather have an atheist than a religious person as a waitress?
