If his death resulted in the purge of evil throughout the universe, why are there still badguys?

Did that say that in the movie?

If I recalled it just was a self sacrifice to destroy Rita initially and locked away the Ranger coins till the appropriate time.

In the movie, Zordon called for an airstrike on his location. Alpha 5 sent an asteroid down that destroyed Zordon, Rita, and the dinosaurs.

But I'm talking about the television series. Zordon directed the Red Ranger to kill him as a last ditch effort to save the universe.

I think it's more along the lines of all evil existing currently since the show continued.

Power Rangers in Space was supposed to be the last season because the series was on the verge of being cancelled. Same thing happened with RPM. That's why it was good because they pulled out all the stops.

According to the WIki, the energy wave spanned either only one galaxy or a few. It's not very clear.

So evil still exists in the universe, which is made evident in the Lost Galaxy season after Space.
