I had taken a test the previous week and asked for my results and that is what he told me. I asked about the other ones like chlamydia, herpes syphilis, etc and he didn't give an answer.

That is exactly what he said. I also told him that I had sex with a trans woman. He said i will just write down "guy". And asked if I was gay. This was not my primary care provider it was a doctor in the ER I went to. They scheduled a follow up. Even the first time I went they were saying messed up things and were rude.

This is foolish thought. It happens. And a doctor shouldn't be saying that you shouldn't worry about HOV if you aren't having sex with other men. You can contract HIV without sex at all. He sounds like an awful doctor.

I guess people might be hung on on the HIV thing but my issue is he didn't have my results or answered my questions about the other tests they had done. I feel like the ER fucked up and didn't keep track of my tests for this follow up appointment.

even if TC catches HIV it isn't a death sentence.... reduced lifespan maybe but they have medications that will slow down the virus.

ER docs arnt known for their bright friendly personalities, sorry you had a douche though. Disregard what he said, doesn't know what he's talking about. Transmission rates are higher in men who have sex with men but that's mostly because transmission is higher with anal sex, etc. you can get it from vaginal intercourse as well but transmission rates are lower

Well HIV apparently was spread into the human race when some guy is assumed to have raped a chimp.

Also it is illegal in some states to have sex with someone without informing them you have HIV.

It is nice to know that is isn't just me who experienced a rude ER doctor. I didn't want to make a big scene but I wondered why he didn't just read the tests and say for HIV you are negative, Hepatitis B negative. He said the reason and said to get tested again in a month. So now I got one more month of worrying if I have anything or not. I got to do the testing process again.
