What do you do?

So starting on the 13th is Songkran aka Thai New Year. It is basically the world's largest 3-5 day water fight. It is also one of the most deadliest times of year with over 400 people killed on the roads over a 1 week span.

2 years ago while living in Chiang Mai someone threw a bucket of water in my friends face while he was driving by on his scooter. Luckily he was only doing 40 so he only suffered some minor scratches and bruises.

Told my wife that I might act very badly if someone throws water in my face while I'm riding my bike. She kept saying "it's normal and for fun". I don't care if it's fucking normal, if some asshole puts my life and safety on the line, I'm going to lose my shit. Suddenly I'm the bad guy and now she doesn't want to go anywhere during it because I don't like get splashed with water. I don't care if people hit me with water, just don't fucking do it to people on motorcycles/scooters on already wet roads. It's just asking to kill someone. People have died in the past because of this idiocy.

If we go anywhere it's definitely going to have to be with the truck which means sitting in a shit ton of traffic everywhere. But I guess it saves me from knocking out some guys teeth then getting my ass ganged up on by every Thai in a 5 mile radius (Thai males are pussies, never fight 1v1 and they'll ALWAYS gang up on you, even if they don't know the people fighting, if one is foreign, he is getting jumped).

Have a wreck, break my neck, and serve as an example as to why you shouldn't ride a motorcycle.

"Only going 40" is not a mitigating factor. That is more than fast enough to get messed up on a bike.

Wear a full face helmet and you have a shot of staying on two wheels and surviving if you don't. Or just stay off a bike for those days.

I will never ever ride a motorcycle. I've been in way too many accidents that some one else caused to take that sort of risk.

It's the second most dangerous place to drive in the world for a reason. We have two periods they call the 7 deadly days. Happens on regular New Year and Thai New Year. Last New Year like 600 people were killed in car accidents in 7 fucking days, like 70-80% due to drunk driving.

I wish not riding the bike was practical. The problem is, traffic is absolutely insane during the New Year and parking is next to impossible to find. It took us 20 minutes to find parking downtown tonight for our motorcycle and you can basically park anywhere you want. The Songkran party at Lee Gardens had like 5,000+ people in like a 2 block radius (we just got back 20 minutes ago).
