23 y/o Kathryn "Katie" Bailey from New York made an emotional speech to her older brother sentenced to 23 years in Prison for RAPING her as a child because of his "curiosity".

She broke in tears several times in court as s he addressed 31 y/o James Bailey for repatedly assaulting her for 4 years when she was 9 years old

James didn't speak when given the opportunity as Judge Stephen Dougherty said he "betrayed every possible human instinct of care and devotion to a child". When asked what was the first word he thought about his relationship to Katie, he said "CURIOSITY"

Katie said it was sexual abuse, not curiosity and said "Do you really thikn so little of what you did to me? You try to blame your substance and alcohol abuse on Dad but in reality James, it was your mind dealing and processing your guilt"

James ia APPEALING his prison sentence stating he was under drugs during that time when he was 17. He was entrusted to the care of his sister because their mother worked long hours and father traveled a lot for his job. Katie finally spoke out more than a decade later after the parents DISOWNED James for his drug abuse in 2013 as she remained silent over the years that brought upon seizures and emotional issues.

James was unemotional during the testimony as Katie once laughed during her tears while discussing his "curiosity" because he managed to damage and hurt her again.

He turned down a plea deal that would have only sent him to 13-15 years and spared his sister of a trial..

Despite this, Katie plans to dedicate her life to advocating for other children who are victims of sexual abuse as she plans a second degree in criminology and ended her speech with "To be honest, i'm not suer how to end this, i've been waiting for this day for years. I suppose a goodbye is an order, but i'd like to say oen last thing. I don't hate you, i hate what you did. But i hope you and your self centred, egotistical a** remembers my last words to you and you'll be reminded every single day that you're in prison for your curiosity"
