I accrue nearly 3 weeks of vacation a year (eventually it will be 5 weeks) and every year I will use 2 of those weeks to go somewhere for 10 days. this year (or early next year) will be Stockholm and maybe surrounding cities.

how do you justify such profligate carbon emissions, given that each flight could mean sentencing a family in a poorer and/or more vulnerable part of the world than you to death or misery due to the effects of climate change?

If you're mainly going for urban stuff and don't mind the cold/snow I've seen Stockholm go down to like $300 from San Francisco in February

Should get pretty cheap then too, depending on where you're flying from. I know Copenhagen is in the 300-400s around then often. Most likely snowing in late November but October would probably just be cold and rainy.

Also I'm pretty sure in November there's not much sunlight.
