Elena can't come back until Bonnie is dead, Bonnie wants to stay alive forever and Stefan wants to kill Elena to help his brother not become so soft. Awesome shit

Seasons 7-8 were honestly downright awful. They started breaking their own rules and throwing out established lore, basically just writing a teen drama instead of a good vampire story.

I did enjoy episodes 13-14 because a surprise character from season6 returned, but I honestly wasn't even impressed with the last two episodes, the finale was way too rushed, should've been two hours, and the acting between Ian and Nina was not believable in the slightest.

The Originals is far superior to this show, has been since season 4 ended honestly.

It's pretty enjoyable once you get into it. The show has a lot of down moments, but the highs are worth it. I had to stop watching week-to-week and just watch full seasons at a time.

My wife watches it, and other crap like Lost Girl and all I do is cringe and play on my laptop during episodes. She's at least considerate enough to watch most of it when i'm not home or she's at work.
