I enjoyed Bustin' Out on PS2 because it did a good job of providing direction and objectives to players, with each living area having a set of things to do as you moved up in the world (with several different progression paths, no less). My understanding is that normal Sims games are much more open ended and ambiguous? I'd like to play something similar to Bustin' Out again, but unfortunately it never saw a PC release :/

the core Sims games on PC don't really have any proper win scenarios, they're pretty much digital doll houses

I take it the PS2 doesn't have Sims2, hmm I wonder why?

Bustin' Out and Urbz on the GBA were surprisingly good. PSP had Sims 2 and Sims Castaway too. All 4 of those were objective-based like the console Bustin' Out.

there was a lot of backlash to it iirc, people wanted a more normal free roaming sims..but busting out was objective based and you moved up in houses / apartments opposed to building your own...but yeah, busting out was great...wish it was available with aging
