took 10 quarts at just over $10 a quart, plus a $40 filter

he showed me the boot up front, it's obnoxiously small and has functional radiator scoops that take up most of the space. anything you want to carry has to go in the passenger seat lol

what amazed me is how low slung it is. you have no idea just how short that thing is until you stand right next to it. the roof line comes up to just above your waist. I love how the back end looks, but you can barely see the tail lights since they're low and angled down

Waaay back when I was a grocery bagger, there was this lady that I would help out and became friendly with over time. She had a different car it seemed every other month. At least 2 different hummers, porsches, and a Ford GT40 off the top of my head. That Ford was a beauty. Turns out that she was the wife of a guy that owned a successful construction company.

Ford has some (in theory) damn good cars right now.

Problem is, when they're having EcoBoost engines straight up explode (15-16 Fiesta ST recall), and doing far worse than advertised MPG on the EcoBoost trucks, it makes it real hard to want one.

There's also the small issue of the Focus RS barely keeping with the STi in raw performance while being more expensive, and the RS can't even be modded as it's already at the bleeding edge of tolerance, where the STi is ready to accept all sorts of mods.

Hell, we're still dealing with the fallout of the 6 speed dual clutch box in the 2010+ Focuses and Fiestas. Not to mention all the airbag inflator and door latch recalls.

One of the biggest problems is that Ford has a regional recall rollout system. So Ford Corporate will send out a cover-their-ass advance recall notice to every eligible Ford owner, with little fine print on the back of the letter saying "your local Ford dealer may not have parts yet". So we get people coming in for what they perceive as a huge safety issue, and we have to turn them away because we don't even have the parts yet. That's lead to some seriously heated arguments lol

The RS is one of the worst values you can get for your dollar. $50K (after dealer markup) and for what? For that kind of money, you'd be better off getting a lightly used GT350! Ford really shit the bed with the pricing of it. And it is indeed tapped out and has little to no potential for modding...which is basically the only reason you're buying one to begin with. The STI is indeed the better value even if it isn't the same no holds barred rally car it once was.

While I respect the Ford GTs power, the styling seems so dated for some reason. It looks like something out of Miami Vice.

I can't even endorse the GT350 (What I thought was the only Mustang I wanted) because of their horribly defective oil pans.

Who spends Ford GT money on a Ford?

You an buy a BMW I8, an Audi R8, or even better, a Porsche or maybe even a Ferrari for that money, and the dealership experience is out of the world there.

Imagine getting your car serviced next to Ford Fiestas...

I was a little disappointed in that too. I feel there shoulda been at least an option for a V8, but honestly Ford's new V6 is a monster.
