SPOILER RELATED INFO -- Let's quickly clear something up - I have not yet left for Altissia. I personally do not want any story or sidequest spoilers for anything past that point, regardless of if you tag it or not. I'm only going to speak about this dungeon, and if you mention anything that happens in the game, please keep it to the pre-Altissia stuff.

I'm on Chapter 8 of FFXV, and all my guys are about level 56-57. I tried Costlemark Tower because of Dino's quest (I'm trying to do as many sidequests as possible before I go back to Caem Shore to leave for Altissia) and boy did I just get my ass kicked.

I didn't lose in the dungeon but those bombs are total bulls*** and I couldn't figure out the Red Giant puzzle near the end. Had to exit out because it's getting too late tonight and I have a massive headache from doing the same difficult battle over and over.

Out of everything Final Fantasy I've ever played, this may be my least favorite thing. The game itself has been mostly excellent thus far, but this dungeon has not helped the game at all. Crestholm Channels wasn't a ton of fun either. Cramped spaces + tons of enemies + poor camera has not been a winning formula. Open area with a reasonable amount of enemies and room for the camera to move has worked much better.

Eat the forno lasagna. You're welcome.

It makes you immune to ALL elements.

So those Thunder bombs literally can't damage you anymore.

I gave you the answer. Eat lasangna. The place becomes trivial after that.

As for the Giant room, use triple, quad, or quint blizzard (o doubt you have Limit magic yet) to dust them.

It's pretty bad.

You have to try to remember which of the four blocks you descended in. Do all four of them and you'll reach the bottom.

The dungeons in the game mostly suck because they're all dark cramped same-y places with boring visuals.
My favorite ones were the naturalistic environments like the volcano place and the forest/swamp area. Extensions of the world map.

What you said isn't true...

Doing all 4 will not automatically get you to the bottom.

You still have to get the blocks themselves right to get to the inner sanctum. You could do it 100 times and never get it right if you are unlucky enough.

Costlemark Tower is the hardest battle in the game if you're just going for the platinum. Dino's quest only goes halfway in so it's not a big deal.

I had to summon Ramuh on the 3rd? Red Giant battle because it was just completely ridiculous at that point.

Reloaded from before I entered the first time. Did not eat lasagna because I don't think I have the recipe (so sorry MWC, that's not really a good solution and didn't account for fighting red giants and solving the labyrinth, or just not having the recipe).

Only had to fight one red giant. Got through the labyrinth on my second time down. Used a guide for the path I needed to take.

MWC is right on that you can keep going through the dungeon forever if you don't know the right path.

Jabberwock was easy s***.

Sorry. I figured you had it for sure, since you were doing all the side quests you said.
