that was exactly how i felt too, so in my late teens i started experimenting a lot, and then that experimentation overstayed its welcome into my early 20s. really all I have to show for it is a ton of wasted time.

It's never too late. Trees are easy to enjoy if you don't...hang around trees all day every day. But some tree related entertainment isn't bad after work or on ya day off.

yes, dealt a lot with self-confidence issues & depression in high school, issues that i thought were very unique to me at the time but in retrospect many young people go through.

so when i had an opportunity to get into trees i did, and i went all out. it gave me a new lifestyle, a sort of escapism, and a way to get down. however as i got older i worked on my concept of self more and improved a lot, and i found that i no longer really desired the escapism, but i was still getting high all the time, and it was a problem for me because my life was moving in a different direction.

the culture was interesting in the sense that it allowed me to connect with people i'd normally never associate with if i wasn't a smoker, but ultimately it's not nearly as interesting as many make it out to be in movies and shit, and there were some weird residual effects (like being unable to enjoy things sober for a while till i was able to "reprogram" myself).

now all i'm left with are a bunch of drug stories i can't really tell people, because they're all normies who think smoking a joint once in the 70s is deviant, and they'd probably have a heart attack if i told them about the time i tripped on acid in public

This is the only thing I regret about moving to Thailand. In Canada we had some of the best trees in the world and I had solid connects so I got it really cheap. But in Thailand it's pretty shit. Comes in a compressed brick and looks like crap compared to western stuff. It is damn near impossible to find in my city for some reason, in the north, Bangkok or the islands I can find some in 5 minutes but in Hat Yai it can be months without. Plus it's pretty damn illegal here so you got to be smart about it, but nothing beats a good j while walking along a white sand beach at sunset.

the thing about being a pothead is that the more you get into it, the more you forget that not everyone is like you and lives that way. so like i would automatically assume everyone was really cool with weed and that it was a very minor thing to everyone, like it was with me.

i think a good case in point was when i went to my sociology lecture one day and the professor asked us to write the most deviant thing we had ever done on a piece of paper and he would read the anonymous story to the class. most of them were very mundane shit . one of them was "smoked weed on the roof of the student center" and i remember the class going wild for that one, and in my head I thought "what's the big deal?"

at this point I was experimenting with psychedelics, smoking joints as i'd walk around campus etc. so like it hadn't even dawned on me that there were people to whom the idea of smoking in and of itself is a big deal, so to tell them that i basically lived in a haze for like 3 years would be a little much lol

Thai stick is just a sativa. Hash isn't very popular. Thai stick has a big reputation from the 70's but like the weed of the 70's it is shit compared to the modern stuff. But if you've been on a t break for a while it still does the trick but doesn't taste nearly as good.

It's good for a little bit, but most people who get "into" it go too far and become wasters for a while.

Pros and cons:

+ It makes you feel more of everything. Music is more emotional, thoughts are more thoughtful, food is more tasty, sex is more sensitive. comedy is more funny
- It makes you feel more of everything. Fear is more real, paranoia is deeper, anxiety's and stress are more panicky. you get easily sidetracked with thoughts

+ You don't get a hangover, unlike pretty much any other drug. At most you'll get a mullover and feel fuzzy the next day, but it's somewhat pleasant.
- You don't get a hangover. Makes it too easy to get into a habit of doing it daily.

+ You don't feel so worried about the current stresses
+ You lose perspective of the current stresses

Generally, weed is fine and dandy but stoners have no fucking idea how deep in lalaland they are half the time. That said I think everyone should try it a couple of times, because I'm a big advocate of life experience.

I found a bar where I can study botany now! Went last night with my wife and another couple. His wife was kinda pissed about it though (she's a bit of a bitch so it isn't surprising). After Songkran (13-17th, it's the Thai new year which is basically a giant water fight throughout the entire country) he said we can take trees home with us to study on our own time, just not until then because of increased local patrols. Still brought home 2 study aids for later tonight.

idk, i mean, yeah, music sounds amazing, but otherwise i become way too self-aware when i'm high

i almost legit started crying last time i did it cause i started realizing too much about myself and my current life situation, my brother (who i was smoking with), and, well, everything

it definitely isn't for everyone

though with that being said, i'd definitely say it's worth trying

would also like to mention that i've never met a pothead who didn't think that they were super smart just cause they toked up all of the time

something about doing it regularly awakens your inner douche or something for whatever reason
