Just a little topic series I was thinking of running to see just how long I'm willing to put up with it. The premise is simple: every day, ten Pokemon will be up for voting, you vote for your favorite. The top FIVE advance to the next day, where they'll face five new Pokemon. And then we see what can last the longest. Like I said, I'll probably get bored at some point, but until then, let's see if we can get through Gen II at least, shall we?

Also, when we reach the final days of the countdown, the contest will become a single-elimination series, with each round trimming the field one-by-one until we crown a single winner from Gen II. Jolteon is our Gen I champion and will face off against six other champions in the grand finals.

Also, feel free to discuss opinions and predictions and whatnot.

We're back to our old ways of tiebreakers this past round, with a four-way split that turned into a pretty sizable blowout all things considered. Speaking of blowouts, Unown looks extremely dominant after his first appearance, but then again, it only gets stronger from here on out.

Kind of lost interest in this topic series due to how Gen 2 seems sorted. There isn't really much to keep me invested each day, so I tend to forget about these.

I prefer it this way! More fair (in one sense) and fewer weird SFF scenarios and it gives the jobbers a chance to shine.

The Pokedex is actually ideally sorted for a topic like this. Strong ones at the start who get to be force throughout, then some strong ones near the end. It's a nice even spread. It feels so uninteresting how it's just random stuff nobody likes at the beginning, then everything great will show up in like four topics and immediately all be wiped out.

it's the opposite imo. weedle took down freaking gen 1 starters. every turd winning now is just beating other turds. and it's impossible for them to even face off against anything truly popular, let alone beat them.

Yeah basically. None of these pokes will even remotely be near the finals and the finals will just be every super popular poke. With the other way it was at least a bit interesting to see certain pokes go on runs and such and pull upsets etc. Since the field will continue to get stronger and stronger, it's really not going to be interesting at all.

I'm probably gonna go back to the Gen I format once this gen is done. People already give less of a s*** about non-Gen I without me foisting the least popular stuff on them all at once.
