a friend of mine gave me his old computer because he didn't want to go through the hassle of selling it....even though I'm sure he could've easily gotten several hundreds of dollars for this thing



I thought it was briefcase at first
This thing is two feet tall and two feet wide

I didn't know computers got this big (unless you count like...the ones from 50 years ago or something >_> )


I don't think I will ever use this thing to it's full potential

I can probably edit videos more easily with this thing!

I guess my luck occasionally manifests into good luck and I get random stuff like this

at first I thought my Keyboard and mouse were broken, but it turns out you don't plug devices into Blue USB ports

Blue USB ports should be USB 3.0, as opposed to the black ones which are probably USB 2.0

If your keyboard/mouse aren't working in the 3.0 ones I'd imagine those ports aren't working at all for some reason.

They did, but now game performance has basically plateau'd. On low settings you'll get able to play any game for a long time. The only problem is lots of PC games are just badly ported, so no matter what your hardware you will have bad framerate.

Probably around 350 to 400 depending on the psu, mobo, and actual tower.

I discovered an issue with the computer, and my friend confirmed it. I guess he forgot about it


It can't enter Sleep mode very well

2 out of 3 times it'll freeze in a limbo state between being on and being asleep. And theres nothing I can do to get out of it, I've had to actually pull the plug on it whenever this happens


my friend told me he always has sleep mode off, so I guess I'm doing the same

Yeah you don't ever need sleep mode. Some people will tell you you don't even ever need to turn your computer off, but IMO you should at least when you go to sleep/leave the house. >_>

Not to echo previous sentiments, but to drive home how great it'll be, I can't wait for you to experience your first Steam sale. Do you actually have any PC games yet?

I had that sleep issue happen to me before. I don't think I ever fixed it. It's a weird hardware thing.

But personally I never turn my computer off, only sleep, until I have to.
