Steve Carrell made a hell of a career off of it.

But seriously, nope. I've had some cool friends I've accidentally offended joking about that because they still haven't had sex, and the main one I'm thinking of is now engaged with a beautiful hot woman. I made those jokes despite being slower than a lot of my friends in losing mine too (21), so...sometimes it's a matter of patience.

I really don't care who is a virgin and the rest of society needs to get on my level.

No, but it can be something to be embarrassed about the older you get without losing it or just something frustrating.

Not for women, although poking fun of less sexually experienced women is a great reverse psychology tactic ("right, like you know anything about sex").

For men... well I'm not going to CAST SHAME on virgin men, but they probably feel enough shame about it themselves. So yes, there is shame there.

It's all about perception and whether you're attractive or not.

> Yes: No shame. You're taking it slowly out of choice!
> No: Shame. You just can't get any.

Yes. I am a virgin, and it feels like I'm cut off from a basic human function. It's dehumanizing. It's not just about sex either. It's the feeling that I'm an unlovable anathema . Those who choose this life: good for them. It's no fun on my side.

Considering a bit of money can literally buy sex, I've never understood why people place such value on it. It's a nice thing to have but the lack of it doesn't say anything about a person.

i mean this isn't true. it can and does say a whole lot about a whole lot of people. it just does not inherently have to be a bad thing.

I meant on its own that information has no meaning. A person could be so vile no one can stand to be around them or they could be a great person who just doesn't care about sex. 'They're a virgin' doesn't indicate much on its own, especially since the vile person could still easily pay for it and it wouldn't magically change who they are

Society chooses to bring shame to those who are, but it's up to that individual to choose to be ashamed about it. I don't think it's a thing other people should care about though, unless they are actively pursuing a sexual relationship with said person.

In society, yeah, for sure.

Should there be? I dunno, I don't think there's a benefit to waiting, but also who cares?
