I'll probably buy it but I have zero hype for it. I just don't feel any magic there whatsoever. The combat system seems cool but looks...weak. I love how in ME3 you had guns of which you could just feel the impact of every bullet leaving the clip. Charging into someone was so satisfying...in this game combat looks more like pew-pew-pew and the Charge looks more like you running into someone really fast as opposed to a genuine charge.

And the cast doesn't really fill me with a lot of hope. Very few of them look interesting in any way, which is just worrying as any tidbit of the main plot hasn't exactly filled me with hopes either.

Don't even get me started on "OPEN WORLD AND CRAFTING!!!!!!!" after the whole Inquisition debacle.

Dragon Age: Inquisition had a great cast.

However, the combat was boring, the world was empty and soulless, none of the quests had any meat to them, the main story was bland and the main villain was a joke.

So yeah, if you absolutely hated Origins and 2, I guess you can say Inquisition was the best Dragon Age, but I never want to play it again.

i'm never in a rush to purchase single player experiences, and my PC is starting to show its age, probably wouldn't meet minimum system requirements

i'll see how i feel once i get a replacement (friend says AMD is coming out with better, cheaper cards later this year)

I think they all have their strengths and no single game did everything better than all the others. Origins had the story and the impact of choices that was unmatched. 2 had the most active, fun, exciting battle system and in my opinion the "strongest" narrative, even though it lacked the scope of the other games. Inquisition tried to do everything and came pretty damn close to a great marriage between the two, but it's enormous scope translated into pretty huge pacing issues and most of the side-quests were not at all interesting.

Oh, and I'll definitely get the game, but I'm avoiding all information about it. I feel like I knew too much about Inquisition before it came out, I want to go in blind this time.

QUESTION FOR PC PEOPLE

I have a PS4 (regular) and though my PC isn't a "gaming" one, I've got an i7 6600, a 4GB GTX 960 and 16GB RAM. What is the game going to look and run better on? I'm assuming I can't run the game on high/extreme settings, but do you think I'd get a smooth experience that looks as good as the game does on PS4?

Wasn't expecting to hear ragged bone man in that trailer. That song's all over the radio right now.

Is it really open world? That doesn't sound appealing to me for a Mass Effect game at all. Didn't play any Inquisition but my fiance said it was pretty bland in that game.

Probably gonna have to wait and see what people have to say about it.

Not really from what it sounds like. There are some open world aspects, but not full on.

I would imagine the worlds are bigger than the original Mass Effect trilogy ones, but I imagine there's still a fairly straightforward main plotline to follow with tons of sidequests.

Unlike ME3, I'll probably hold out on buying this Day 1 (let alone the CE). Maybe after a month I'll get into it... depending on reception.

I also put exactly 100 hours into DA:I and can say I wish it was about half as long. It's a beautiful game with not much substance. It felt like a lot of what doesn't work with the system they used. Some of it was really good though. I love the environment design, the special effects/spells, some of the quests were good... Regardless, unless you're a big DA fan, I would not recommend it.

Witcher 3 has its own set of weird bugs and graphical errors, though. It feels like a lot of games do! I've seen some of the stuff you're talking about and it's fun for a laugh but I dunno, this is sort of the occasional thing I've come to expect from big games. Especially Mass Effect; it's not like these games were already known for their stunning animations. Only weird thing to me is how we're seeing this stuff before the game is even out.

That's just it, though. I expect stuff like this....but they CHOSE to showcase some of this s*** in their big worldwide trailers. This is what they thought was the best after combing their footage. Which makes me really curious as to what the stuff they DIDN'T think was as good to showcase muse be like.
