16ish End

In the last day I have slain, Oceiros, Dragonslayer Armor, Ancient Wyvern, and I feel like someone else I am forgetting.

In Archdragon Peak. I know I have to do Profaned Capital still also. Still looking for a Titanium Slab to +10 my weapon.

I feel like I didn't listen to someone in my previous topics advice to run past a lot and that is why I am such a high level.

1. Nameless King - 50.13% (5,966 votes)
To the surprise of absolutely no one, the hulking, lightning-imbued war god known as the Nameless King takes the spot as the number one hardest boss in Dark Souls 3, as voted by the IGN community.
Fought in a cloudy void in Archdragon Peak after ringing the large bell, the Nameless King rides in on his stormdrake, the King of Storms, armed with a massive swordspear and ready to completely wreck you and the three friends you inevitably summoned for help.
He may be optional, but Nameless King stands as one of the most memorable, epic, and challenging fights in a game brimming with them.

Uhhhh, the boss you say is a pushover is the boss that is considered the hardest lol.

Should be fun. The issue I had yesterday was that I killed so many dragon guys and a big ass flying dragon and got ip to like 100k souls but never found a new bonfire so I had to backtrack all the way back when I ran out of flasks so I wouldnt lose my souls. If there isnt another bonfire somewhere before the boss I am gonna lose my mind.

I killed him but he had two bulls*** moves. Lunge and thrust. His super saiyan charge move had an easy dodge and biggest opening to hit him. But getting him to use it was rhe trick. With no flasks left and 30% life I was able to bait 2 of them out. The 2nd time I needed 5 hits to kill him. I knew I had no shot of dodgding an attack if I didnt get the 5. Went for it anyways and we double koed. Good enough for me.

When I finally beat him, I one cycled him. I died a tonnn to that fight. It took me awhile to realize you can't be aggressive and have to keep up endurance to roll at qby time. And that sprint is the best way to beat the beam.

Ahh Dark Souls 3. Love its bosses, they're pretty challenging because they move so much more fluidly. I think the bosses I one-shotted were Iudex Gundyr, Vordt, Crystal Sage and Oceiros. There were certainly a few which killed me when I only needed to hit one more time either at the first or second attempt. However, I don't think I've needed more than 9 attempts for any boss either. The only one I'm not entirely sure of is the Greatwood and maaaybe the Abyss Watchers (but I doubt it), after that I started becoming better.

What I love about playing the series is that you just notice with each game how much better you become. I just beat Dark Souls 2: SotFS, and while I still died a lot, I never ever felt like "oh god how will I get past this" like I did at the beginning of my first Souls game. That game is the one where I one-shotted a large amount of bosses, but to be fair, many of its bosses are just lame fights and extremely unoriginal. Still have to do the DLC though, and things will pick up significantly there I know.

last boss, in typical souls fashion, is a pushover compared to how good you are at the game at that time and how tough the past few bosses have been

i also one shot the last boss my first time through - quite easily tbh

I think I one-shotted them (though I had seen Iudex Gundyr and to a lesser extent Vordt before I fought them), plus I know I one-shotted Yhorm (but with Siegmeyer and I knew what to do in advance probably because I looked up the Siegmeyer quest) and Aldrich.

I think all of them have killed me on subsequent playthroughs, though. In the cases of Oceiros and Aldrich, probably quite a few times.

And I know I didn't one-shot Greatwood because for the life of me I couldn't get to his weak spot in the second phase without getting wrecked. Pretty sure that once I beat him I've never had trouble since, so I couldn't exactly say what the problem was.

Actually now that you mention it he wrecked me until I looked up a parry timing video. He might have actually killed me more than Nameless. I was using the Washing Pole 2-handed and I couldn't find the timing to land an unpunished hit in the second phase. I might have been playing really late at that point though, so I couldn't say for sure it wasn't just because of that.

Champion was hard, that's not my issue with him. I just think he's the game's biggest example of bad boss design. They took Iudex Gundyr, a very uniquely designed boss that completely throws you off, and then made Champion, which took everything interesting about Iudex Gundyr out in exchange for an arbitrary strength/defense boost and more spammable moves. It was "cheap difficulty" at its absolute worst.

Like I said, I honestly cannot explain what I was doing wrong at first. I certainly wasn't confused about the weak points, and phase 1 wasn't the issue. I certainly wouldn't call him hard by any stretch.

Virtually every boss does in DS3. Some are just less obvious than others. Ones like Champion Gundyr just unlock new attacks/patterns around half health but don't do anything else fancy to show it.

I always prefer the smaller bosses that are closer to your size and fight like you. Hunter battles in Bloodborne, for instance.

Champion Gundyr is fast, hits hard, has deceptive combos, and has very specific openings to exploit if you're not parrying him to death. Super fun and probably killed me more than any other boss in the game.

I don't see why Champion Gundyr was a bad boss. Overall, I think I would have to side with Murphiroth as to why.
I tend to dislike bosses with gimmick weaknesses (e.g. Bed of Chaos) and care less for bosses where the danger area is vastly dwarfed by the size of the boss's vulnerable area (e.g. Vordt of the Boreal Valley).
Bosses that bring it down to your level and give you a serious run for your money tend to be my favorites, especially when combined by creative designs and combat dynamics.
