I've found a pretty nice set of 3-year old golf clubs for $75. It came with a driver that was still selling for $40 used by itself, so that was definitely worth it. And I know my dad's found a lot of pool equipment on there for decent prices. It's fine if you're not looking for electronics. That's where most people go insane with the pricing.

Those prices are not meant for you. They are meant for people who don't know any better.
Also, lots of those prices are meant to be negotiable. You're supposed to ask for more than what you think you'll get for it, so that people can negotiate with you. If you'd accept a deal at $100, why not ask for $150? For all you know, you could get someone who wants to buy it for $150, or someone could negotiate you down to $125. If you're negotiated down to that price, you're still getting $25 more than you would have if you originally listed $100.
That's what I always do when selling my textbooks to other people, at least. That said, I never sold anything on craigslist.

Oh, and yes, I have bought something on craigslist I was satisfied with. It's also my only purchase: my car. It was a rush sale and the seller said the price was non-negotiable, but I was okay with it because it was $500 or so under Kelly Blue Book value and had no problems. I was going to try to get another person to take an offer that low anyway for a car with many more miles.

its basically stupid people selling to stupid buyers and succeeding
There isn't anything stupid about getting more money than your crap is worth.
Yeah, especially given that CL ads are free. I mean, what do you have to lose listing your PS2 for $200 or whatever. The 30 seconds it takes for you to make an ad? And hey, maybe some idiot out there actually buys it!

I bought an SNES w/ 8 games (which included Killer Instinct, Super Mario Kart, Super Metroid, and SMRPG) for 30 bucks.
I was satisfied.
Then you see people listing an SNES that is so nasty and discolored beyond belief, with like 8 games (all crappy ones) and one controller (a third party at that) for like, 80 bucks.
People are f***ing stupid.
