No, he's like an odd mix of Homer and Moe. I generally don't like the show that much since I'm not a big fan of sight gags and sci-fi/Twilight Zone references that pretend they're real comedy. That being said I do like Zapp Brannigan and Hermes though.

As for Bender, yes, but I'm not as big of a fan as most people seem to be.
