Say you're writing a scene where multiple characters are involved and speaking all in the same conversation. What's the best way to handle the dialogue in that scenario?

Captain Tracy Mombaro and Agent Mirasuke Inhara: Two of the toughest, hottest furrs you'll ever meet.
Each new character gets a new paragraph whenever it is they speak/something shifts perspective and it is usually a good idea to remind the reader that the other people exist when they haven't spoken for awhile if it is applicable ("_____ barked out a laugh at the joke" or somesuch)

These are fun for static perspective writers such as myself because they offer an opportunity for us to buck the trend, disorienting the reader very slightly and highlighting the personalities of multiple characters at once.

well I was being facetious but if you want a good example of an amazing story with an inanimate object as a main character you should read Hotel, a oneshot manga by Boichi. I think it's like 60 pages in total but it's definitely worth a read.
