I got bored. I'm re-watching all of Community as per my rankings and, naturally, questioning the placement of many of these episodes. But at any rate, I'm going to get started on this list and the format may or may not change as I go.
Any guesses as top seven or whatever exactly might win something. Like headphones. Oh yes. Headphones. I will give away a pair of headphones to somebody who guesses my top seven. But they've got to get in before I get seven episodes deep into this list. After I've ranked my bottom seven, you are no longer eligible to guess my top seven. You get one guess, but until my bottom seven is posted, you may delete your guess and try again.
I will go slowly through this first seven while I queue up some write-ups so people can get in on this.
Without further ado, my least favorite episode of Community!
71. S02E11 Abeds Uncontrollable Christmas
The only entertaining part about this episode was, honestly, the very beginning when Shirley claimed that she was a tolerant Christian. Ive only watched this episode once, at least until I started this list. Ive put it on again during this write-up and Im already bored. Im not sure if theres something about stop-motion animation that I dislike, but its clearly not working out for me in this one.
On top of all of that, I find that the voice-acting is actually pretty terrible all-around. Theyre actors, and as such, theyre not as great at talking without you know, acting with their bodies. Jon Oliver is particularly bad in this episode in regards to his voice-acting. I do like Abeds incomparable meta song in the beginning when he fondles the Chang snowman.
It doesnt help that I dont like holiday-themed episodes in general. For any show. I find the story uncompelling in this particular episode and, again, Im incredibly bored throughout. Its not cute, theres no depth and Ill probably never watch it again. The one thing that saves this episode for me, in regards to leaving it with a smile, is the Troy and Abed ending scene. OK, one more thing - I do enjoy the Christmas Pterodactyl. So theres that.
Best Quote: Progressive and kickass. - Britta, in response to questions about why shes Brittabot Best Character: Abed, I guess
By reverse order I meant surely you couldn't place Abed's Uncontrollable Christmas as the worst episode. This must be his favorite episode and then he's going backwards through them.
I cannot understand how anyone would rank this episode as the worst, but I will follow this topic nonetheless.
From: foolm0ron | #004 Do we have to guess the order of your top 7, or just the set of episodes?
I think the set is fine, but you should still order them. If two people guess the same and one person has the proper order, he wins.

I'd consider doing this list myself at some point as well. In fact I might have the time in these next couple days to do this along with you, if you'd like to.
Also an idea - at some point, rank all the endtags too!
My guess for your top 7 (And nahh, this isn't mine):
Remedial Chaos Theory Advanced Dungeons & Dragons Modern Warfare Cooperative Calligraphy Contemporary American Poultry Curriculum Unavailable Mixology Certification
I'd consider doing this list myself at some point as well. In fact I might have the time in these next couple days to do this along with you, if you'd like to.
I don't mind if you wanna do your own in this topic, too!

Well let me see how long it takes me to do some write-ups...I have a tentative list order.

Also, that top seven is invalidated with the next one on the list. Apparently I'm going to be controversial!
Well, some of those episodes I don't particularly like, but I know others do.

70. S02E10 Mixology Certification
This one is certainly odd for me, because theres aspects of it that I think are absolutely funny, A+ stuff. Abeds conversation with the gay nerd, and Annies accent and persona. But when the whole episode wraps up, I just dont like what Im left with. As it winds down, it gets to be annoying, and I dont necessarily understand it all-that much, either.
What I mean by that is I dont quite get Troys expressions near the end. I dont fully understand what emotion hes actually going with. Is the message that this is what its like to grow up? If so, I think its a sloppy message, to be honest with you. Jeff and Brittas arguments are also as infuriating as though I was part of their group, which I guess is successful from their standpoint, right? Still, its just an episode that I dislike as a whole, for one reason or another.

I figured that would be the one you did next. I loved Mixology Certification until it turned out to be a downer episode in the end. I've had too many nights out that didn't live up to potential in the end. I also didn't get Troy's reaction to Jeff's "you're a man now" comment.
I'll probably let people guess closer to the top, actually. Maybe 20 episodes in. I'm still thinking. Either way ..
69. S02E21 Paradigms of Human Memory
I hate clip episodes, and I always will, regardless of what form they take. I know, these are never-before seen clips, and that makes it a little better, but I still find myself bored by them and Im generally unable to pay attention. The only good part about this episode is Senor Chang and the ventilation system. Honestly dont have anything else to say about this one.
Best Quote: Six seasons and a movie! -Abed Best Character: Jeff
If I havent made any enemies by now, this one is sure to do it. I understand this is a very funny episode, but Im definitely bothered by the high school kids. I know how weird that sounds, but they actually bother me so much that I dislike the episode, despite the fact that its supposed to be that way. Kind of like how 80s punk bands had terrible vocalists by design, they were still terrible vocalists.
The one saving grace for this episode is the sheer joy and and legitimate-feeling realization as Britta pitches the idea to bang that kids mom. That scene is so perfect, I think Britta and Jeff play it off so well. It makes me want to rank this higher, but when I looked over it, I kept picturing that high school girls face and it made me angrier and angrier, so I kept pushing it down. Though I do think that the hearts on underwear bit at the very beginning means this should be up higher than it is.
Best Quote: My uncle was struck by lightning. You'd think it would give you superpowers, but now he just masturbates in movie theaters -Troy Best Character: Pierce, due to the racist/sexist lines at the beginning of the episode.
Yeah, this list is going to be interesting simply because it's going to be different than most diehard's lists.
Abed's Christmas is one of the most memorable episodes for me. That Britta Bot Song does in 5-6 lines what Season 1 couldn't do in 23 episodes.
And Mixology Certification is a Top 10 episode for me. It established Troy as the protagonist of the show, it took the group WAY out of its element and into a social setting not involving the school or just them and to see how they function when they're not playing roles for each other is fascinating. That car ride home had so much in it.

I really can't see much offensive in this topic. I mean, 90% of Community episodes are ace with the other 8 being 7 decent episodes and The Art of Discourse. I completely forgot about it until now and it should be your 71.

I can honestly see the appeal of Mixology Certification. The message and the way it's portrayed just really grates on me.
I will wait a bit before submitting a guess I think given what I've seen so far
That said I'm not a big fan of Mixology, but Paradigms is an awesome ep

"I am the best in the world at everything I do, and I don't have to write it on the back of a T-Shirt to prove it, because I AM it." - Chris Jericho
Let me start off by saying this is the best of the two times that a teacher has instructed them to throw paper balls at one of their fellow students. Outside of that, this is a somewhat boring episode. Once we get into the actual plot of it, I find it suuuper boring. Shirley is having her baby, yadda yadda yadda. Theres not much to say about it other than that.
Jon Oliver is amazing in the beginning. I love it when hes a fake teacher. The best part of the episode is Troy and Abed losing their magic on their handshake, and the Dean only being able to call the race war/riot a kerfuffle. The nod back to Abed delivering a child earlier in the season is cool, too. But ultimately, I got bored just re-watching this.
One thing I do enjoy is how they continue to nod to the fact that the rest of the school doesnt like their group, when Starburns asks about them almost having one day that wasnt all about them. I was always thinking how cool it would be for Community to do an episode with another group. Like the group that accepts Buddy. Maybe have several episodes throughout several seasons with just totally different people with the same dynamic. Anyway.
Best Quote: First of all, together my cats can do anything. - Britta Best Character: Abed
Community has always used a heavy-handed pathos to even out the wacky eccentrics. It's the Arrested Development format that every show from Community to Parks and Recs has used. Like Alan Sepinwall said(paraphrased):
"There are 2 kinds of shows on TV: Pathos driven comedies like Arrested Development and Anti Hero Dramas like Sopranos."
Mixology Certification happens to do the former exceptionally well. Be it the pangs of deceit/anger/jealousy/disappointment that flicker across Troy's face all within a split second when he finds out Britta kissed Jeff again or the hilariously disheartening realization that Jeff/Britta were talking about the same bar. That episode was what made Remedial Chaos so damn defining. It was one of the first times we got to see them as people, flaws and all, and turns out Troy is the good one.

I just don't like the presentation. I honestly feel like it's sloppy. Community is a show that's amazing when it comes to going out of the normal boundaries of a sitcom and illustrating a concept in its own way. This is one message or concept that I just don't like. I don't like the realization in the end and I don't like the Jeff/Britta dynamic throughout. But it's not an episode that's totally lost on me. I understand why it's enjoyed and won't try and convince anybody otherwise, but it just doesn't do it for me.

65. S01E14 Interpretive Dance
I like how they think Pierce is dead in the beginning. Privacy Smurf, Discrete Bear and Confidentiality Spice made me laugh an awful lot, but once the actual episode got going, it didnt do much for me. Its great that Community is such a different show that the immasculating aspect of taking a dance class doesnt just affect one character - and that the second character is also a female who isnt very feminine. Thats a refreshing dynamic, but its not enough to carry the episode in regards to enjoyment while watching.
Britta staring at Troys package is pretty funny, but again, its not just hilarious. Theres isolated pockets of funny, but as a whole, its lacking as a whole.
Best Quote: Girls are supposed to dance. Thats why God gave them parts that jiggle. - Troy Best Character: Troy
I feel like I could pick seven random, relatively un-noteworthy episodes and there'd be a good chance of them being at the top. Apparently there's no reason to guess good episodes.
