Because all they do is cancel them after 1-2 seasons, right when I'm really enjoying and loving it, and replace them with a god awful version that is made by some clown named Loeb. No story arcs in his cartoons and it will always be geared toward kids 7 and under. I hate to say this...but I may turn to DC (ugh) for my superhero cartoon fill. How are the Green Lantern and Young Justice cartoons? Are they at least decent?
Young Justice is rocking. Green Lantern is solid. Kind by the numbers, but the season finale was fan f***ing tastic, and it probably only gets better from here.
From: UberPyro64 | #004 The Green Lantern one is pretty bad IMO.
Young Justice is really good though.
Does Speedy get more air time? I remember thinking he was pretty cool in the few episodes I saw at the beginning.
I've only seen a couple episodes. And from what I've seen it's good. Speedy gets some good time. Also yeah the GL cartoon is fine as I was thinking the movie for some reason lol.
Personally though Neither are amazing. If you want amazing cartoons from today, go for Korra and Thundercats. Those kept me much more entertained. I much prefer the older DC cartoons like Batman TAS and Justice League/Unlimited. Those were superb.
Most cartoons only last 2-3 seasons nowadays, that's just how TV is. Once they reach that point, they're required to give the voice actors raises. It's cheaper to cancel a cartoon and make a new one. When Avengers: EMH was in development, Disney ordered a full two seasons right away, probably because that's all they were ever going to order (unless it hits Spongebob levels of popularity). That's why shows like Ben 10 change the name of the series every so often -- cheaper to make Ben 10: Alien Force season 1 than Ben 10 season 5.
I like Young Justice and Green Lantern -- YJ a bit more, but it's hard more time to develop, and has really gotten good in season 2.
From: YetAnothrShadow | #006 Young Justice is made by the same guy who did Spectacular Spiderman ( Who also did Gargoyles back in the day)
Sounds promising. Gargoyles was an amazing show.

Yeah...I know it's cruel to want someone to become comatose or mentally incapacitated in some way just because of a cartoon being cancelled...but if it could possibly make them reconsider cancelling the show, or consider bringing it back sometime down the road when this new garbage Avengers busts, then I guess I would be okay with it...it will be for the greater good. I will give those other shows a try since Marvel has broken my heart. I am normally not a DC fan at all, but I guess I have no choice anymore.

Not as Speedy, but yes. He's a major character towards the end of the season.
Awesome...I'd watch that. I always liked him from when I first discovered him in Teen Titans which I thought was hilarious and awesome despite the insanity of that show. I prefer the name Speedy to Red Arrow...but it doesn't make a difference really.

So the new Thundercats is actually good, eh? As a child, it was my favorite cartoon ever (along with TMNT and X-Men). I saw they re-made it, gave Panthro giant sideburns which I dislike, and made Tigra the arrogant older brother of Lion-O...but if it's good despite those changes then I guess I should watch it more. I saw about 5 episodes so far.

The writers of Avengers: EMH had an idea for season 3 already. Apparently season 1 involved the Earth enemies mostly, season 2 was the galactic season, and season 3 was going to be the magical season. They were also planting the seeds for the Civil War (likely the later half of season 3 or in the beginning of season 4). I would have loved to see the "magical season" and the Civil War stuff. Then I'd feel satisfied and would have allowed them to do what they needed to do.
From: tereziWright | #012 Movies are debatable, but DC has a pretty solid lead over Marvel in comics and cartoons right now.
I don't read the comics these days, but as a kid I loved Marvel way more. Movies I would give to Marvel just because of the Avengers movies which were great (the rest of Marvel movies were not so great)...and I didn't really like the DC movies much outside of the Watchmen (I'm not a Batman fan). Cartoon-wise...if they kept Avengers: EMH, Wolverine and the X-Men, and Spectacular Spiderman, I'd assume Marvel would be the much more popular company in the cartoons. But they were scrapped for Spiderman for 6 year olds and now some garbage Avengers cartoon where they give them awful outfits (especially Hawkeye with his movie look), and have Falcon. Unreal considering EMH already HAD all of those characters, plus more.
But uh... it actually has plot, so I imagine it would be pretty hard to jump in now without catching up a bit first. I believe the first season is up on YouTube.
Speedy, Red Arrow, Arsenal, whatever he wants to call himself, always been a fan of Roy Harper! He was doing pretty s***ty a few years ago, though. He's great in Red Hood & The Outlaws.

The 90's are one thing, but nowadays a large majority of Marvel's 80ish comics a month are mediocre to garbage, and they tend to cancel much of their good stuff (just like with cartoons!). They have a handful of really strong titles like X-Force, Daredevil, Venom, and a few others, but right now everything is being taken over by this s***ty Avengers vs X-Men event which is probably the worst event they've had in a solid decade.
DC on the other hand has around 55ish comics and you've got a 50% chance of grabbing a good one if you just blindly pick from them.

I intended to start from the beginning even though I saw the first handful of episodes. I don't jump in the middle. Once I realized how awesome EMH was during the Kang arc, I stopped watched and quickly went to the beginning of the series.

Yeah, he is the reason I was watching the first few episodes of Young Justice. Kid Flash also seemed decent. I felt the other characters needed a little work. Aqualad lacked personality, Superboy sort of did as well, the martian girl was sufficient for her purpose (peppy fun girl), the archer girl annoyed me only because I felt like she was replacing Speedy, and Robin seems too young and not very confident yet. But I figure they will get developed as the show goes along. Before I get into it...there are no cancellation rumors, are there? I will be pissed if I have to suffer again.
Young Justice doesn't have any intention of being cancelled any time soon. The 2nd season actually has a different name (Young Justice: Invasion), so it looks like they're already taking steps to prevent the 3 seasons issue.
I actually don't think it started off very strong at all, it has gotten SIGNIFICANTLY better.
From: CeraSeptem | #018 yeah now would not be a good time to jump into Young Justice.
They are literally right in the middle of something slightly complicated.
Don't worry, I always start from the beginning. I can find the episodes somewhere like I did with EMH when I jumped in during the Kang arc.

X-Men and Avengers are fighting it out with each other in the comics?? I guess they got tired of fighting the actual villains.

Guess I'll switch to that. I'm not in love with all the sudden Batman love-fest (reminds me of how they were sticking Wolverine in EVERYTHING a few years ago)...but he just gives them the missions mostly anyway which is fine. Wolverine was my favorite character in the 90s cartoon...as a SIDE character. He was not the main. There was no main...and if there was a main character I would have said Cyclops seemed the most "main" in that cartoon. Then Marvel went all Wolverine crazy and sort of ruined him for me by making him way too central. That is sort of how I feel about Batman since his first movie came out. Not that any of this has much to do with Young Justice at all.

It's what Marvel is like approximately half the time nowadays. Everything is also really poorly handled the motivations and actions of the characters are poor. Best part is the lack of any kind of cooperation between the writers of all these tie-in books, with characters saying different things and looking different and acting different in a whole bunch of books that are showing the same scene.
From: GenesisTwilight | #027 Just watch the original Justice League and then JL Unlimited for the best superhero cartoon ever.
90s X-Men and Avengers: EMH are the best. Anyway, I just don't find most of the mainstream DC characters interesting enough for that unfortunately. I don't like Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, etc. Flash is fine and Green Lantern as Hal is cool...but not the super serial guy that they used. Martian Manhunter is just a clone of that black Green Lantern (serious and no personality) so I don't think I'd find him all that interesting. That's why I'm leaning toward Young Justice...some fresh faces that may have more personality. At least the martian girl seemed spunky.
