If you can survive the first season and a half, you'll gradually be on the biggest uptick in quality a sci-fi show has pretty much ever experienced.

DS9 is my favorite television series, beating out things like The Wire by a wide margin -- but early DS9 was trying to be a poor man's TNG and the writers clearly didn't have a firm grasp on characters like Sisko, Dax and Bashir.

1x19 "Duet" is your first big taste of things to come. So good.

Episode 2 was good, it just really didnt feel like a second episode. It felt like an episode that should've happened 5 episodes from now
