The 9th inning for Dickey was out, error, passed ball, passed ball, groundout to break his insane scoreless streak, too
Its not like his own team was giving him any help. That 9th was pathetic.

Well, the nice thing is that it can now be agreed that the Mets have one no-hitter. You can't take both no-hitters away from them. (Although personally I think non-shutout no-hitters are sort of a joke)
Wow Football doing this makes me realize that my teams aren't as successful as I thought in the past decade or so! Didn't count Duke in 01 coz I didn't give a s*** about college basketball back then.
Since 01
2001 World Series, Yankees def. by Diamondbacks 2001 Super Bowl, Rams def. by Patriots 2003 World Series, Yankees def. by Marlins 2008 Stanley Cup Finals, Penguins def. by Red Wings 2009 Stanley Cup Finals, Penguins def. Red Wings! 2009 World Series, Yankees def. Phillies! 2009-10 NCAA Div 1 Basketball finals, Duke def. Butler!
Holy crap how have you had your teams in title situations so damn much and not at least gotten ONE?!

Who cares about a perfect game? The Orioles won, AGAIN!
GO O's!
I'd say I'll be sympathetic once they're 15 games under .500 again, but I'd be lying.
So you better hope they stay hot Hush. We both know they are winning the AL East and going on to the World Series.....ahh who the **** am I kidding, after the All-star break we will go 10-30 just like in 05.

So yeah its official but they know they haven't a chance in hell of winning
Pretty much as badly blown as the "foul ball" Beltran hit, except it was the official scorer.

At least the Red Sox are relevant and don't go +/- 10 games over .500 with no hopes of playoffs every year while no one ever talks about them or cares they exist!

List of my teams that have played for a championship over the past 11 years:
KU loses to Syracuse: 2003 KU defeats Memphis: 2008 Emporia State University defeats Fort Lewis College for the NCAA Division II National Championship in women's basketball: 2010 KU loses to Kentucky: 2012
There seems to be only one sport my teams are any good at....
(KC Wizards lost to DC United in the 2004 MLS Cup but that happened to fall within a small window where I didn't care about pro soccer)

I don't think a team I root for has played for a championship since...the last time the Spurs won a title back in 2007. Well, the Lady Vols won back to back national titles a few years ago, but I don't really pay attention to women's basketball, so it wasn't as big of a deal to me. And other than the Spurs winning 4 titles since 1999, I haven't had much luck with my sports teams winning.

07/08 Premier League, when we lost to United at Old Trafford is the most crushing defeat of my life.
That season, we led Man United by 6 points going down the stretch and proceeded to throw it away. And they had I think a 6 point lead on us going into this critical match. We were KILLING them early on but could not find a goal. Finally Adebayor gave us the lead 1-0. But in the second half, Ronaldo scored a penalty and then Owen Hargreaves scored a free kick and buried us 9 points back of them with 4 games to go.
I was depressed all week after that.

I really thought we were going to score on that drive after McNair had that epic play where he avoided being sacked and hit that long pass.
That game was so f***ing frustrating because I really felt like we were vastly superior all over the place but thought we were going to lose just because Steve McNair refused to be beaten.

The Titans were really fortunate to be in that game at all, because the Rams could've easily been up 21-0 at halftime, and we managed to hold them to three FGs. And then when we fought all the way back to tie it and Warner hit that long TD pass like 30 seconds later, man, that was a seriously deflating moment, followed by the Titans having to start the final drive deep in their own territory with less than two minutes left in the game. Man, McNair was so amazing on that last drive.
See, not only have i lost that many titles, I have been on the losing end of games that will be shown in highlight reels forever
Game 6 last year obviously, and of course losing to a hook and lateral, double pass, and statue of liberty. Also have been on the losing end of two Heisman winning performances, Crouch in 01, and RG3 last year
What it meant was one of the epic plays in college football history

Don't forget Dr. Football, Oklahoma technically finished 2nd in the (lol) x-stats of the 2009 NCAA tournament!
My teams' successes/attempts over the past 11 years...
2003 - Spurs beat Nets in 6 games to win the NBA Finals 2004 - Panthers lose to Patriots in SuperBowl XXXVIII 2005 - UNC beats Illinois (NCAA Men's Basketball Championship) 2005 - Spurs beat Pistons in 7 games to win the NBA Finals 2006 - Hurricanes beat Oilers in 7 games to win the Stanley Cup 2007 - Spurs sweep Cavs to win the NBA Finals 06 and 07 - UNC loses in the College World Series to Oregon State 2008 - Penguins lose to Red Wings in six games in the Stanley Cup Finals 2009 - UNC beats Michigan St. (NCAA Men's Basketball Championship) 2009 - Penguins defeat Red Wings in 7 games to win the Stanley Cup
Don't have a favorite MLB team, and when it comes to NCAA Football, I simply watch for good games, since I've long accepted the fact that the Heels will never be anywhere near the National Championship game.
