Hey guys, I guess I don't understand the purge because there was a post in that topic yesterday, but who knows? At any rate, I'm looking for writers for my next website - a site dedicated to sports gaming. I am unsure if the site will be in the form of its own blog at http://basesloading.com or if it will be a fork of SB Nation with a .com/gaming thing, but I will be in charge and I can bring on my guys, regardless.

I have some writers already, but I need plenty more. Some of you will be more committed than others and some of you will write a lot more. I'm looking for people who are willing to write a lot or someone who is just willing to write once ever couple of weeks. But what I do need from you is something of an idea of how much you want to write and, of course, the kind of content you want to write.

In other words, there are all kinds of things from retro reviews to retrospectives to news for the here and now. Then there's tournaments and sim leagues and leagues in those football manager/wrestling manager games and things of that nature. I want to know what you're specifically interested in.

If you posted in the other topic, please post again and give me some more specifics. You can also email me at [email protected]. I had a lot of positive responses in here and I'm definitely excited to bring on so much help from Board 8ers to help give the site the authenticity it needs. This isn't like my music site - outside of a one-month-or-so feeling out period, I'm going to be very serious about making this site succeed.

To SEP and Realo, please shoot me an email.

Now as a p.s. of sorts .. my music site, http://outoftreble.com ... is something I want to get serious with. I've sort of used it to just write about random stuff and I haven't been editing it or anything like that, but I've recently added a new writer and have begun work on customizing the site a little bit. I've also added two new editors to work on the content flow and distribution. If anybody is interested in the site (doing somewhat similar writing to what is up), please let me know as well. Thanks.

I talked about the MLB 07 sims with the legendary players against the current stars. That's something that I could do every day, or at least every other day, but I worry about such a thing becoming stale. Then again, this being a brand new site, as you get word out about the site, there should be plenty of new readers every day, but on the other hand, want to keep things fresh to keep people coming. So I'd have to defer to you for how often you think I should do this.

I can also come up with some other things so I'm not doing only this. I had mentioned before about doing a 3on3 or 5on5 street league in NBA 2K10, and I could still do a simulated season on Madden 12 (either real or fantasy draft rosters), although I certainly wouldn't be watching every single game like I initially wanted.

Basically, I can have new content on a daily basis. I don't know if I could do multiple things in a day, including the time it takes to run the simulations. But I can have a few different things that I can have running at once, and of course we have some time before launch where I can get a bunch of stuff ready.

You're definitely in, by the way. I don't know if I mentioned that or not but I'll be talking with you soon with more specifics, but happy to have you on board.

So for simming through a season of Madden 12, I have three options: fantasy draft rosters, using accurate end-of-season rosters to re-run 2011, or using those rosters and simming through the offseason and running a 2012 season. For the third option, the 2011 sim would be irrelevant and undetailed; I would start with the offseason, seeing how the Madden sim shakes up the rosters in comparison to how it really ended up (i.e. I would have the Colts cut Peyton Manning, but I wouldn't control where he signs), and then see how the season plays out.

I ruled out the fantasy draft rosters. That would be compelling, but I think it would be harder both to write about and for readers to follow without the frame of reference of the actual NFL rosters and happenings. I wouldn't rule out such a thing in the future, but for now, for this, I want to stick to accurate rosters.

The third option seems pretty interesting, but the flaw in it is not having the actual rookie class, i.e. Luck and RGIII. Anyway, I wouldn't be able to match the draft order without more effort than it's worth. I could at least edit in some of the more prominent names on equivalent top picks. Either way, I think this is more interesting than just re-running a 2011 season (besides, I don't want to replace the Giants winning the Super Bowl!), and I can make it work.

So there's two projects I have now. Haven't started looking at NBA 2K10 to figure out exactly what I want to do there, or if I even should get a third project running at this point. Going through the NFL offseason should provide some good daily content for a bit, so I probably don't have to launch a third project right away....but I might want to.

It's really funny to see how big of an impact Peyton Manning has on the Colts even in a Madden simulation. I had run a 2011 season a few times, and he was league MVP twice, and the Colts were a Super Bowl contender each time. I just ran another one where I dropped him to the bottom of the QB depth chart, and the Colts went 4-12.

I'm willing to write a lot, and feel qualified to write a lot for FIFA. Can host tournaments too, it's a bit unfair if I play in them though I feel.

Anyway, just tell me what you'd like to have for FIFA.

I hope this is just a case of me trying to make a great first impression. I'm writing up my first post now, introducing the Madden sim, and it's taking a long time. I'm certainly having fun doing it, and I'm loving how it's turning out, but this site is going to take up a lot of my time if I spend so much writing each post. Intros take a bit more effort to figure out what you want to say and how you want to say it though, I think.

Though I haven't got into personally planning specific content yet, yes I generally like to launch with overkill. I'm talking posts at 5, 7, 9, 12, 2 and 5 each day for the first month or two. I will be handling most of that, but ya know.

Right now I'm hoping to have six days a week content with this Madden simulation. The first week will be offseason stuff, then I'll get into simulating the season, running two game weeks per calendar week, finishing up just after the regular season starts up. So that's 2.5-3 months. I'll also have the MLB sims, I still haven't decided how often I'll do them, probably front-loaded as I can get some done before the site even launches, and I don't know how long it will be until it gets stale.

I do have a couple weeks of vacation coming up in the end of July, but hopefully I can load up on content and get through that period of time. Maybe that could be a good time to put an end to the MLB sims, if not sooner.
