It could probably be beaten in 60-80 hours, I think.

100% completion....oh boy. I don't even know. 150 hours, maybe less if you do it all one one playthough? I can't remember if you're required to be on a second playthrough for anything. And you'd also have to follow Kouli's guide exactly, which would slow down your progress through the main quest considerably.

100% completion is 100 hours-ish if you are using the Kouki guide. That's not achievement completion, though. Pretty much impossible in a single playthrough.

not concerned about achievement completion since it's not my xobox anyway that I'll be using, but yes using Kouli's guide for all sidequests is preferable

Probably 100 hours then.

There are a lot of times in Kouli's guide where you have to walk back across a ridiculous distance for barely any reason. I don't know which are required due to missable timing and which he's just trying to get out of the way. Unfortunate issue with Kouli guides.

Given that one of the achievements is literally "Play for 100 hours" and another is "Have 10000000 gald"?

14 hours was probably a stretch. Maybe 11 hours or so.

Definitely takes 2+ playthroughs, though.

Just beating the game is definitely doable in 11 days. I remember Ulti having a playthrough topic that spanned like a month or so, also using the same guide that you brought up. I think he completed the game sans achievement but I don't remember exactly how long it took him, though I think it was well over 100 hours.

I always try to play a franchise in release order to see the evolution of gameplay, regardless if they're connected or not.

This also extends to similar games made by the same game designer

like I refused to play Bayonetta until I had played all the DMC games.
