Anyone else playing witch doctor? I haven't read how other people are playing d3 besides this thread. I have a feeling nobody is using poison dart-splinters but I couldn't live without it or any of these I'm using:

1-Grasp of the dead (unbreakable grasp)
2-Soul harvest (swallow your soul)
3-Gargantuan (humongoid)
4-Spirit walk (honored guest)

L-Poison Dart (splinters)
R-Firebats (death is life)

jungle fortitude
spiritual attunement
spirit vessel

Finally got to where I don't get 1 shot by everything. I skipped Act 2, though. From what I hear Act 3 is less of a b****, and has better drops. Farmed a lot today, so I should be upgrading my dps quite a bit tomorrow. Hopefully I can handle Act 3 then. I haven't really tried yet, I've just been farming Warden/Butcher.

Had a friend make a game on the last quest in Act 3. I joined it, and we killed the boss.

Ah, makes sense. Just found a way to do it through a glitch as well. Now to see how quickly I die in Act 3!
At least there aren't any of those damn dire throwing monkeys and wasps.

So every enemy is basically a really strong elite and elites are... scary. >_>

Poison Darts - Splinters is practically the only competitive build in inferno. I use it, though it kinda sucks it gets blocked by stuff and you can't necessarily hit the mob you are trying to target if others get in teh way.


How far are you? Your build is pretty damn standard. 80% slow is incredible, and you can't live without Spirit Walk, it's your "oh **** im about to die get out of jail free" card. Soul Harvest is considered standard in most builds because it can give so much int, and heal you decently if you hit a few mobs. I've stopped using it in Inferno though, makes me play too close to the mobs and they just one shot me. You can use Spirit Walk to run up, Soul Harvest 5 mobs, and run out without getting hit, but I don't like to put that on cooldown and not have it up when I need it to dodge a mortar or something.

Gargantuan is amazing up until later hell where he starts to go down pretty fast, and Inferno he just gets one shot by everything and is unfortunately a waste of a skill. I really wish he'd be usable in Inferno, I love that guy.

Firebats is meh. Along with Zombie Charger - Bears it's possibly the most damage per second ability a witch doctor has, but it requires you to be so close to enemies I don't like it in Inferno. It also burns mana like crazy so you can only use it for a few seconds unless you have Vision Quest, which I'm not too big of a fan of.


Your passives are pretty good. Jungle Fortitude is just soo good, I can't see myself ever dropping it unless I give up on vitality and resists completely and don't even try to be tough enough to survive stuff (which may end up happening in later Inferno). Spirit Vessel is a great Cheat Death ability and makes Spirit Walk have a slightly shorter cooldown which is nice. The mana from Spiritual Attunement can be nice, I dunno if it'll make that much of a difference with Firebats but I suppose if you aren't using Vision Quest that's the best way to extend your mana's life. Personally, I prefer to always have Jungle Fortitude and Spirit Vessel, and then use either Fetish Sycophants to make little guys to tank for you constantly while you spam Poison Darts, or Pierce the Veil to significantly increase the damage of Poison Darts. Or perhaps Bad Medicine to nerf everythings damage.


As far as abilities go, with group play I ALWAYS have Big Bad Voodoo with Slam Dance rune, you drop that **** down in the middle of your group and everything melts. I don't use it too much by myself because I have to kite a lot more, so I use Hex to turn my enemies into chickens and easier to control. I also love using Fetish Army. Long cooldown, but even if the little guys get one shot it takes awhile for them to all die, so they tank my enemies for me pretty nicely. Much more useful than Gargantuan because the Gargantuan only tanks one hit, these guys tank many.
