Nintendo at least had the foresight to not put Super Mario All-Stars on Virtual Console for $8 since they knew they could later sell it on a disc for $30.

From: Jakyl25 | #009 It just boggles my mind that they did so much right with it but failed to enable Sonic 3 + Knuckles! If you buy the XBLA versions of Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles, you can play Sonic 3 & Knuckles.
Also WTF @ Streets of Rage 1+2+3 for $10, I already bought SoR2 for $5 like 4 years ago, what a rip.

These collections are significant, besides the fact that the Xbox Live Arcade releases come in packs of three, theyre being handled by M2 as opposed to Digital Eclipse/Backbone. Which also means a number of features that are actually interesting, which involve sound tests as well as leaderboards for the Trial mini games based around core sections of each game, replay modes that allow you to record and share your gameplay, and online multiplayer for supported titles. In addition, Super Hang-On features a 3D mode for 3D-enabled televisions.
Well aren't both versions on the same ROM, and the game just switches between SoR and BK based on what region the console tells the cartridge it's from? I saw a YouTube video where a guy modded his Genesis to have a switch that toggled it from Japanese to American. He used it during the intro for some Streets of Rage game (the first one I think), and the text crawl changed languages part way through. Like the first few lines were in Japanese, then the next couple lines were English, and then it went back to Japanese for the last couple lines, with both languages staying onscreen.

That might be the case for 1 or 2 but in 3 it's not; the different versions actually have some code and graphics moved around in the ROMs in the conversion from BK3 to SoR3 (or in the case of some data that was unused in BK3, deleted entirely from SoR3)
All that matters is how the input lag is. If the lag is noticeable it's still best to buy them for genesis. Who did the sonic 1 port thats on xbla? That isn't very good.

oh yea, I remember someone on b8 complaining about that a good while ago and even posting videos
