It's not hard to extend the same courtesy to family members. I would under any circumstance, like "oh we're visiting and they wanna talk about their life." They're family, you listen to their stories even if you don't care about them. Or when people are dying and just want to make a connection with someone, you listen to them even if you wouldn't normally. It's called "having empathy" and it seems to be something Ayuyu lacks completely. When I read this story I don't think "man that uncle sure does sound annoying" I think "I'm glad that such an uncaring self-entitled brat is not related to me." She would call him so often and just sputter nonsense for an hour+ every day. To the point where he was the only person in his family even answering her calls (and hed only answer like 30% of the time max).
