Five year timeskip. Zatanna and Rocket got promoted to the JL. Dick became Nightwing and leads the Team. Superboy and Miss Martian decided to remain on the team. No signs of Artemis, Kid Flash, Red Arrow or Aqualad. New members include Robin (Tim Drake) Blue Beetle, Beast Boy, Bumblebee, Lagoon Boy, Wonder Girl, Batgirl, and Mal Duncan.

Season 1 took FOR-EV-ER to finish -- a year and four months. Thankfully the good part of that is there was no gap between seasons 1 and 2, it just started the very next week.
An upcoming videogame called Young Justice: Legacy is supposed to help bridge the gap between the two seasons. The tagline for the game is "one will rise, one will fall, one will die". Speculation is that Artemis dies while Kid Flash becomes the Flash (rise) or melds with the speed force (fall) while Aqualad becomes Aquaman (rise) or Black Manta (fall). However, the show creators have been lame about this previously when they said someone that "no one is safe and someone will die" in Season 1. That turned out to be Kent Nelson (original Dr. Fate host) who only appeared for that one episode.
As long as they flesh all the new characters throughout the season I'm alright with the skip and all the new characters. I'm real happy Beast Boy, Wonder Girl and Blue Beetle were added. And Anne Veal is Wonder Girl! Kick ass.
How many episodes are out of this right now? I might have to catch up on this after my exams are over. Timeskips are usually cool. Plus Beast Boy, Blue Beetle, and Robins hell yeah.
From: NioraptH | #017 I was hoping for the uh.... younger Robin, but Tim Drake is fine too.
Damian Wayne? That would have been too complicated. Tim Drake is perfect, and he's the one that should have been Robin in the first place. So I'm glad this time skip happened. We just need Bart Allen to show up now as Kid Flash while Wally is the Flash. Barry Allen is possibly the one that died.
Aqualad can't be Aquaman unless he learned how to change skin color.

How would "Batman had a son" be more complicated than "Dick got bored of being Robin and left but then I, Tim Drake, happened to be watching the circus as well as news reports about Robin and figured out that Robin was Dick Grayson and Bruce Wayne was Batman!"
I'm guessing Aqualad is the one who died. Aquaman was in the first episode of the new season and Aqualad seems like the type to sacrifice himself. Artemis may have done a heel turn, or maybe she's just hunting down her sister.
Dunno about KF.

I blame the ridiculous hiatuses for why the show doesn't get much discussion. And I kind of expect it to be the other way around, Aqualad does a heel turn while Artemis dies. Wally... is helping Roy or something

Actually does Tim even have the same origin?
Didn't actually explain where Tim came from. And Blue Beetle was also talking to his armor but they didn't explain that either (I haven't seen the last half of the first season though, I'm not sure if he was in those episodes at all).
And I guess it wouldn't be too complicated for Damian Wayne to show up. I guess I just meant Tim Drake > Damian Wayne. Don't skip the best Robin, he's been around long enough to get some damn recognition.
Tim Drake is easily my least favorite Robin. He always just seemed kind of there and wasn't nearly as interesting as the others imo. Then again I don't think I've read any heavily Tim-centered stories other than A Lonely Place of Dying (I think).
I'm probably just crazy though.
EDIT: And Knightfall I guess but holy crap were all the parts with Tim boring as hell. Although really that was just because Knightquest kinda sucked in general, so it's not his fault.
