Yup! On your sidebar, there's a chat rooms option. You can choose to join a custom chat room. Just type in "board 8" and it will put you in there. Then in your options menu (the gear thing in the corner of the chat room, I believe), you can set the option to autojoin.

And if you had more than the map awareness of an insect, you'd realize what was actually going on there (hint: the enemy team was already going towards you guys) as well as several other instances where you had no idea what was going on (walking away from an enemy attacking me when we're in the same screen).

And by the way, I had no idea you guys were doing Baron because 1. It was a stupid ideas 2. My game was glitching out horrifically at the time and I lost the ability to see allied pings, among many other things going on.

Not ever one to leap to Bio's defense but uh the rule of thumb is if your team is doing something as a unit and you aren't there, you are automatically in the wrong. Yes their decision may be bad but you make the situation hopeless by making it five on four.

Do you really think that I wouldn't expect opposition at a Baron attempt? I warded every passage they were likely to come through and we would have been ready for them if they tried to stop us. You decided to hang out in the brush next to their wolves for some reason, when the rest of the team was already starting on Baron. Three enemies started chasing you and you made a beeline for the rest of us, which wasn't necessarily the wrong thing to do, but it shouldn't have happened in the first place. And really, if the entire team is grouped up in the baron pit, what do you think we were doing?

And to respond with such venom to a criticism is really poor form. Yeah, I could have been nicer about it, but I really shouldn't have to be. I asked a legitimate question and you just ripped into me like I'm the scum of the earth.

I really don't know what else there is to say.

Well not to be the downer but both of you have major attitude problems, in general, when it comes to League. Bio you aren't self-aware enough but in this instance you aren't being very jerky or anything and I just dressed you down for that so there isn't much to say.

But KP wow man I am usually willing to let stuff go because we are all board 8ers and I try to be as polite as possible but uh since you want to use your false sense of superiority to try to take a shot at someone else let me be the one to newsflash you: You aren't very good at this game. You are in that phase where you are good enough to be better than the complete trash and bad enough to not realize that what you are doing isn't very impressive.

Like the other day I, a person who is literally ten times the bottom laner you are at the moment and would stomp you into the bloody god damn ground, gave you advice and you shrugged and acted as if I just didn't understand for the most part. I understand that lane way, way better than you do. In fact I also understand this game in general way, way better than you. A lot of people here do.

I know it is Bio and and all but holy hell get off your high horse it will make you both a better player and a better team mate for your fellow board 8ers because I don't care as long as Bio didn't mug your mother he didn't deserve the crap you just spewed at him. It was reactionary, it was out of frustration, and that is really just not acceptable on the boards. Hell even I, a person with a legendary temper, try my best to limit it to me bashing someone for their ability and not telling them "you get what they deserve" holy hell KP what is wrong with you.

By the way I don't say any of this to put you down or raise me up. I want you to become better, and I want everyone to treat each other just a little better than what you just did. I understand frustration and I understand critique but there has to be a line somewhere.

Yeah news flash Chris: I know I'm not that great at this game. That's not what I care about. You and me seem to have completely different ideas of what it is okay to bash someone for. I don't care if someone is doing badly at the game. I'm not going to b**** them out for it, which for some ungodly reason you think is okay. People who complain, people who ruin the game for everyone else with their comments. Those are the people I don't like, and those are the people I will speak my mind to.

And no, I don't do those things to people who keep quiet. But if you open your mouth, you've opened the door. That's my policy. People like you, Biolizard, and some others here on B8 are the ones that I don't mind insulting. Because you have absolutely no concept of the difference between a critique and an insult. There are comments said to make someone get better at the game and there are comments made to make yourself feel better. You do the latter.

With Biolizard in that match, he had moaned about several things in the match already, some of which were his fault. Maybe I wouldn't have gone off so quickly on another person, but I've dealt with Biolizard far too often in the past to be patient with him.

P.S. Before you type up a response that amounts to 'you're misinterpreting my comments', I just don't believe you when you say you're just trying to help people get better. Sorry if that offends you but I simply don't.

I can confirm that chris is "just trying to help people get better".

It is however in chris' nature to be much more frank than someone like myself tends to be, but his intent at least is good.

Ant there are numerous players who I'm sure would be willing to confirm that I also try to help people improve, I just happen to do it in a much more mildly reactive way.

It more closely means that you have to realize that there are legitimately a LOT of aspects of this game that go over your head and you actively seek out the knowledge that you lack to make up for this. Even at my level I have to take a similar approach. There is something that the consistent 2k ELO players know that I currently have not mastered and I'm going to stay where I'm at until I make the necessary adjustments.

Even Chris realizes that there is a lot he doesn't know. Chris for example has been working on jungling lately from time to time in ranked. As a jungler main there are a lot of things I just innately know about how the jungle "works". From timings down to simply just knowing which lanes I need to pay more attention to. Chris would make a mistake related to some aspect of jungling that I would just take for granted, I would say "oh you didn't do XXXX? Well you should do XXXX in this situation in the future because of YYYY." And chris would say "oh okay, that makes sense" and go from there.



He might be more 'in your face' about mistakes and less tolerant than others, but he DOES want other B8 players to improve and he DOES walk the walk himself.

Just my 2 cents on the matter I guess.

I remember Chris was really frustrated with me in an inhouse once, because I had no idea what I was doing as Taric and I'd kept screwing Chris over in different ways.
I like to think I've marginally improved since then, and it's only a 50/50 chance I screw Chris over now.

To help try to speak for Bio and KP, I just think that some people are more thick-skinned than others, honestly. I'm well aware of the fact that Chris and realo say what they say because they're trying to help me improve, but the way they give their "criticism" gets to me at times, especially because I'm not thick-skinned at all, and since I haven't been playing for very long, I make A LOT of mistakes.

I'm probably around the same skill level that KP and Bio are at right now, if not lower. Thus, I am prone to make way more mistakes than people who are better than me (and you don't even have to be that much better than me to see the mistakes I make). I think it's the way that people criticize that makes a critique tolerable or intolerable for us that are.

Maybe it's stupid, but I've noticed it with myself. When FD gives me criticism, he likes to point out the things I did right and the things I did wrong. I remember a game where I was top lane as Renekton, and FD approached me after the game and told me about how good a job I did farming against Shyvana (which I was quite proud of at the time because I was still summoner level 23 and just barely starting the game, and the Shyvana was level 30). He also told me about how my build should've had a bit more magic resistance because of how AP heavy the enemy team was. I actually kinda wish I played with FD more because I think that his criticism is a lot easier to take than most others.

I've played with Sytha a lot, and when I make a serious mistake, he shoots me a one-liner over vent, and the tone in his voice makes it sounds like he's upset with me, and I just kinda shut up and give him space. I don't want to make it worse.

Then there's realo, where he's extremely blunt with his criticism. The more mistakes I make, the more he "critiques" my playstyle, and it just escalates more and more from the "Spike don't let the creeps push to the turret" to "SPIKE ATTACK HIM YOU HAVE MORE DAMAGE THAN HE DOES" and that just frustrates me, and in a particular game where this happens, I notice that it makes me play worse than I originally was.

In any case, I know there's a lot of things that I need to improve on, and in retrospect, I know that everyone says what they do to help me. And I want to improve. I'm actually gonna play ranked on my alt once it hits 30 because I wanna get my ass handed to me to (hopefully) get me to improve. It's just a matter of how the advice is given that affects players that are kinda soft like myself. It's not anyone's fault but my own that I'm so easily offended, but that's just what I've realized.

Instead of "Don't build THAT, that's a horrible item" I like to say "against their team you probably want to build this item because of..."

That way you can learn how to make those same types of decisions for yourself, I guess?
