First of all, I want to thank DarthInvadeher for giving me the idea for this topic. This was just such a great idea, and will be yet another excuse to play through Fallout 2 again! Check out his topic btw:

King of Dragons pass playthrough. Woo! You tell me what to do.

What is Fallout 2?

Fallout 2 for those of you that don't know is a Post Apocalyptic Role Playing game set is the southwest coast of the US in the early 2240's.

The intro video, of which I will post in a bit will explain the background storyline better, but as for the gameplay, it's something that is quite different from Fallout 3 and New Vegas.

It's a completely turn based, isometric rpg, where action points are used in order to do everything in combat, not just use them to sorta aim and shoot at different body parts. It's also a personal favorite of mine.

Oh, and don't get me wrong, you can aim at body parts in this game alright. In fact, unlike Fallout 3, with melee weapons you can actually aim at body parts. Oh, and did I mention that you can not only choose which arm and which leg to aim at in this game, but you can also...heh, well you'll see.

How we play

Like I said, I got this kind of idea from DarthInvadeHer, but being that this is a turn based rpg, and not just a bunch of awesome drawings and text choices, I'm going to have to change a lot of things about this.

I'm going to simplify the choices quite a bit. Generally, I'll going to at the very most try to give you no more than 4 actions to choose from at all times after the character creation process. IN other words, you aren't going to be able to choose every little detail like you can in DarthInvadeHer's topic.

For example, as far as character creation goes, I'm going to choose where the Char Points(or S.P.E.C.I.A.L. as they're called in Fallout 3) go into, as well as 1 of my Traits, but I'll let you choose the age of the character.

As for what ultimately gets chosen, well that is determined by not just your choices, but a dice roll.

I'm also going to be taking several liberties with this playthrough, such as gaining extra character points throughout the game if certain things occur, as well as changing the amount of certain items you find at certain points in the game. I'm also playing this like, well, a let's play, so I'll be saving the game at certain points, and reloading as well if I die. I mainly just wanna have fun with this.

Anyways, I'll give you the starting choices in a bit. The idea I have in mind is that you have until sometime between 2pm-6pm west coast time today to decide on what will ultimately be be our main character.

Once again, I wanna thank DarthInvadeHer for this topic idea.

Oh, and just so you guys know, this topic is also on a couple other boards. This way I'm more likely to get more people making choices.

Choose an age between 16 and 35, and I'll average out the results. Believe me when I say that this will make a difference in this Let's play.

Being the Chosen One, you are quite Gifted, which adds +1 to all Character Points, at the cost of several points in every skill.

What of the 4 following will be your second optional trait?

You are skilled with Small Guns and Speech. Which of the three are you also skilled with?

Looking forward to seeing what is chosen. Like I said, I'll let you guys vote until somewhere around 2pm or 6pm west coast time, depending on how many people respond to this topic.
