I usually like to wait anywhere between a few weeks and a few months for a game to "sink in" and the hype to die down before attempting to evaluate it. During this time, many games tend to leave a sour aftertaste as their shortcomings become apparent, although for Skyward Sword, it was the reverse. While I was playing the game, I was annoyed by the backtracking and fetch quests just as much as anyone else, but after some time I really gained an appreciation for the intuitive motion controls. I don't think I could ever go back to regular button presses after this. On the other hand, the mediocrity of Super Mario 3D Land was apparent fairly early into the game. Recycled assets, bite-sized levels (as short as 5 ticks from start to flagpole), the regurgitated second half (yes, I know SMG1 and SMG2 did the same, but their "first quests" were actually substantial) made this feel like a quick and desperate cash-in than one deserving of the Super Mario name.

This may well be the final tier list update for the foreseeable future. With the rehashy-looking NSMB2 on the horizon, my interest in Nintendo products is on hold indefinitely, at least for now.

The Galaxy games at the top is excellent.

But both NSMB games over Mario 3 and Mario World, and Mario Sunshine over Mario 64?

Ironically, I'm not a fan of Other M but I enjoyed Brawl a bit more than Melee. For the record, I'm not against Mega Man Legends 3, and I think Final Fantasy X is a superior game over Resident Evil 4. Embarrassingly enough, I cried several times during the ending of Pokemon Red!

I was recently watching an LP of Mario 64 and while I was doing so, I couldn't help but think "how the f*** does Leonhart think it's so overrated?"

Don't get me wrong, I prefer Mario Galaxy, but still.

...am I the only person here who considers Mario Galaxy to be the best Mario game, but would not even put its sequel in my top 5 Mario games?

Also Super Mario Sunshine and Majora's Mask are worse games than Metroid: Other M, all of which are awful compared to their series' best.

Quite possibly.

Super Mario Galaxy > Super Mario Bros. 3 > Super Mario 64 > Super Mario World > Super Mario Bros. > Super Mario Galaxy 2

But they're all all-time favorites of mine.

Is it really that bad that I legitimately played both Other M and Majora's Mask in 2010 and enjoyed the former more?

Then again, I'm probably the only person who considers Other M to be awful in comparison to Ocarina of Time, The Wind Waker, and Twilight Princess (haven't played Skyward Sword), but prefers it to Majora's Mask.

LMS, I'll be honest and say I don't think it's so much your opinions (because this board deals with awful opinions on a semi-regular basis), but more the way you present them never makes any damn sense. That and the way you always seem to flaunt opinions of games you haven't played that are based solely on what other random people think.
