Well, just off the top of my head, Cox comes across as an egomaniac who always has to be right and everyone has to know he's right, but it amazes me to watch how many times he deliberately lets the other side win when he could easily win himself, even someone as insufferable as Private Practice Elliot. Despite his gruff exterior, he pretty clearly cares about J.D. and does a lot of those things to try to teach him stuff, like in My 15 Minutes where he tries to get J.D. to evaluate himself and then rips his face for not taking it seriously enough, and then we see him commending J.D. highly before the board of directors in the very next scene.

My Jiggly Ball and the His Story from Kelso's perspective (is it IV? I always forget which is which) probably highlight who Kelso is better than any two episodes in the series. Kelso comes across as heartless because it's much easier to let everyone hate him for making the hard decisions than trying to make everyone like him. Kelso is all about distancing himself from the pain and getting emotionally attached because it makes it easier to make the difficult decisions no one likes or wants to make. It's why Kelso becomes so much more personable after he resigns. He doesn't have to worry about that stuff anymore.

^Truth. Jordan had so much potential, but it's obvious that they ran out of ideas for her so they just fell back on her being an aging slut and that's all she was.
