And then you see the people who finish in 2nd or 3rd place almost always do well in show business after.

It's the like goal of these shows is to get as far as you can without actually winning because it'll screw you up.

These are the only two winners I know of that stayed around after winning. Kelly Clarkson has had some down time though, I don't think Underwood has had any trouble.
