I am SUPER INTO dominion but after hundreds of games I find myself....not tired of it, but wishing for some variety.

I don't really wanna spend the money to assemble an actual TCG deck, but if there are good video or online games that I haven't played yet, I'd like to hear about 'em. I'm more willing to put out some money for a one-time kinda thing like Dominion or Killer Bunnies, but even then I have no friends so I'd rather have something I can play online or against a computer >_>

Nightfall is an interesting twist on Dominion. It's a deck builder like Dominion but is focused on direct combat between players in a gothpunk setting.

Edit: And now I just realized there's no online play for Nightfall that I'm aware of :/

Ascension, Nightfall, and Thunderstone are other deckbuilding games I've played, though like Dominion I can't honestly recommend any of them.

San Juan and Race for the Galaxy are riffs on Puerto Rico in card format. Tichu is 4-player not-quite-traditional-card-game and can be played online at BSW. Innovation and Citadels are the only other card games that come to mind.

I will check these out :D

I am not NECESSARILY looking for a deckbuilder, I just am a Dominion fanboy. I've played like two games of Race for the Galaxy (at least I THINK that was the one I played. You had different phases but you picked which ones you did or something) and enjoyed it.

Honestly I kinda just want to somehow take the Consult mechanic from DW5 Empires and somehow expand that into a standalone game. >__>

I recently got most of my friends into the Resident Evil DBG. It's been fun, though it's simplistic (I had to start them off on something easy).

If I'm not mistaken, the playstyle is similar to Dominion (I haven't played Dom), so it might be familiar (or boring).

Is Race for the Galaxy good? I've seen it on the shelf at one of the local gaming shops for a while now and it looked cool but I had no idea if it was actually any fun or not.

Also I'm not sure what it's like these days but I know the Game of Thrones card game used to be fairly cool. It used to be a CCG but some number of years ago it became a "Living Card Game", and instead of releasing sets in randomized booster packs they just started selling little boxes with all the new cards in them. As far as I know you still build your own decks just like you used to, you just don't have spend zillions of bucks to chase down the cards you need.

Yomi is a card game that plays like a fighting game, complete with 10 different characters with their own playstyles and abilities. It's all about mindgames. You can play it online at http://fantasystrike.com

The same guy also created Puzzle Strike, it's meant to look like a puzzle game like Puzzle Fighter, but it's pretty much a deckbuilding game, and features the same characters as Yomi. Also playable at the Fantasy Strike website.

Race is decent. You make enough decisions and see enough variety to make it worth the buy. The advantage of the card-drawing element is that almost every game is different. The disadvantage is that people can get nuts-draws and just win, and there's nothing you can do about it.

7 Wonders is my favorite tabletop game
Dominion is also very fun
Fluxx is good if you're not into a lot of hard strategy.
I've also heard good things about Yomi, though I'm torn on buying it because if I don't like it I don't want to dump $100 on the big set, but if I do, I'll feel I wasted money on just 2 decks.

Puzzle Strike is what I first thought of from the opening post. Try out the tutorial of it on the site that was linked to earlier. It's a deck builder with more player interaction, so the game is a bit more interesting than assembling your own engine and then going nuts. Plus no shuffling and there's a come-back mechanic!

7 Wonders is a light card drafting game. Has some issues if you're competitive, but it scales in terms of players nicely enough. If you frequently have large amounts of people, consider it. Supports 3-7 players.

If you're looking for complex games which are more strategy focused than luck, look at Power Grid, Agricola, and/or Puerto Rico. All are interesting games, but a bit unforgiving if you make mistakes early on (especially Power Grid where you're completely doomed if you make a math mistake in the first 2-3 turns... actually if you ever make a math mistake you're screwed).

Technically 7 wonders can support 2 players with a slight variant in which you have a city that you take turns controlling, but I don't personally find it as fun. Some people think it's better than the "real game" though, so if you're only doing 2 player games it may be worth checking out at least.

Yeah, I've played it a few times and I really don't think it's worth buying if you're going to be playing it 2 player compared to other games you could get for the same price. It's not a terrible variation, but anything with a dummy player tends to have issues in my book.

Really any game that wad obviously made for a certain number of players and then they say "Hey here's a variation that supports a different number" tends to be inferior to the original intent.
