Board 8 > Why the hell is Firefox putting gray around pictures I click on?

Like, it's centering the image and filling in all the blank space with gray.

Why the hell is it doing this?

fills it with black for me, but then i use a different theme thingy...

i would guess the centering helps make it easier on the eyes rather than side aligned, and the darker than white blank space highlights the picture rather than blinding you with whiteness.

It's a CSS "issue".

Found an add-on that changes it back to how it used to be.

I prefer the centered grey. It took me a couple days to get used to it, but it's easier on the eyes and more gracefully presented imo.
