I've read that it requires you to use a QR code reader to solve puzzles. That's total bulls*** and I hate games with puzzles that aren't solvable within the confines of the games themselves.

You can just decode the QR code yourself by hand if you feel so inclined

Yeah, but that still requires both knowledge of QR codes and, I'd assume, a program to analyze them. That kind of trick I'd expect from a browser based puzzler or ARG, not an actual retail game. That s*** just doesn't fly.

I like it so far. Is decoding the alphabet actually necessary to complete the game?

I think I figured out the symbols for going right, jumping, etc, but thats about it, but it hasn't helped me yet.

No, from what I understand you can get the 32 cubes needed to beat the game without decoding anything. But a lot of the anti-cubes will need deeper problem solving.

Things like the bell and the magnets and the little pillars with a dot in them are still a mystery to me. I have the artifact for decoding the numbers, but I don't know how to use it.

yeah, frankly I'm not a big fan of those kind of puzzles in the game. I haven't come across most of the main game puzzles because I've been exploring the top part of the map and still haven't returned to the first hub area.

I think the puzzles and exploration are both really strong so far, but they are each held back also.

I think the puzzles are great, but especially with the kind of stuff you have to do for the anti-cubes, it's a little ridiculous, and I hate being stuck in a mostly empty room and not even knowing if I have the necessary knowledge to solve the puzzle inside or not. That is an annoying feeling.

The exploration is cool, I enjoy rotating the world a lot, with the cool music and visuals working together really well. Theres lots of little stuff thats fun to find...

but backtracking and navigating is pretty awful. The map is odd, but it works well enough, the problem is being in an area with 5 doors, going to each one to figure out which will take you back, that kinda sucks. If warps let you choose any level and go to it, that would be A+.

I haven't found any of that to be a real problem for me. I think backtracking and using the warps is quick enough. It's easy to identify which doors you haven't been into.

im talking about backtracking. going to each door, trying to see if thats the one you wanted to go into next when you've already been there. it's easy enough to tell which ones you havent been to yet, but when youve been in a room, and then give up, coming back is a pain.

i get the vibe that knowing the alphabet is like half this game, Im tempted to just print it out from somewhere, I think Id enjoy the game much more then.

Just figured out the alphabet. I don't know if that artifact is a red herring or not, but the way I found it was actually a little clever on the game's part.

game looked kind of interesting, won't buy it because the dev is a giant douche, maybe if it gets in one of those pay what you want bundles I'll do a penny

Played the demo, seems alright. I did want to keep playing a bit longer when the demo ended, so I guess that's a good sign. Not sure if I want to get the full game yet, I'll have to mull it over.

...And there's the numbers. That might have been harder, but I got spoiled on what one of the numbers were so it went more smoothly, I was able to better understand the pattern they were trying to make. If anyone does have problems with the letters/numbers, I can try to help or give clues

No no, I mean it's like if you were to print out the solution to every puzzle, since the alphabet itself is a puzzle that leads to figuring out other things. All you have to do is investigate the room you got the letter artifact from, everything you need to understand the alphabet is right there.

I haven't ran into too many puzzles that need the alphabet/numbers, though they are out there. And you can beat the game without ever touching that stuff.
