Was considering moving it outside, but figured it was too much effort and the thing was harmless.Biggest I've seen around here in awhile, bit bigger than my thumbnail.

Well, relatively huge-ass.

As in, most of the spiders we see here are less than a quarter its size.

No, it's confusing you because you lack reading comprehension.

A spider the size of a thumbnail is kind of big. Unless that size is after you've taken its legspan into account. Then it's just an average spider.

Spiders are the best.

And if it's only bigger than your thumbnail then it should very definitely be your friend. It's too small to be a threat to you. Of course, no spider will be a threat to you so long as you treat it as a friend.

Best outlook on life.

But don't get too close, kill them with Windex or something from afar.

Bigger than a thumbnail is big enough, feed it to a lizard or snake, reptiles destroy insects every time

I saw a spider the other day crawling around the kitchen sink area. It was among the huger spiders I have seen being a bit bigger than thumbnail size. It was kinda meaty for a spider and was black with a white dot on its back. I looked it up and it was apparently a jumping spider. Pretty much harmless to humans.

I let it live. Go forth brave spider! Slay our common insect foes!

I had a dream the other night that I bought a kitten and it got bit by a tarantula... and died. It was incredibly sad. Even though none of this actually happened, I'm still kind of hating spiders right now. I normally just move them outside, but I'm pretty sure I could kill one right now... and not even feel bad about it.

Well, you really don't have to worry about that happening in real life, tarantula's really can't bite. Still I wouldn't recommend touching them ever, they make your skin super irritated and itchy.
