Well...sure, if we don't get into the various situations and circumstances.

It heavily impairs your ability to think and reason.

Alcohol does, but marijuana? I find that it ups my creativity, and my thought processes are generally more positive, that's about it. You don't get high and then go into this world where logic and reason break down and you can't think straight, that's being drunk.

By the way, anyone playing the legality card is automatically wrong and needs to read a history book.

Sorry Ulti, but this is silly. Whether or not you believe marijuana ought to be illegal, the brunt truth is that marijuana is illegal. Which means smoking runs the risk of getting got and budding a criminal record. Have fun stunting your employment opportunity!

Do you happen to know people aged 40+ who have been smoking pot habitually for most of their lives? There are always exceptions, but most I know (and I know quite a few) have ended up throwing away their ambitions and becoming pseudo-intellectual bums.

I know a lot of people like that too.

But I also don't know a lot of successful rich people, of which I'm sure enjoy their hits just as much.

But the legality has nothing to do with the debate.

Plus of course again, the criminal record thing is off since marajuana is decriminalized in some states, such as Massachusetts.

And yeah, if you live your life without breaking any laws, well that'd be impressive.

Well, I mean it is a bit questionable to simply not break any laws, it's good to question authority and have your own ideals.

Granted from a very cautious self preservation standpoint, I understand where that point is coming from. But it's not really the best way to live life I'd say.

This.

You should see all the idiotic laws this country has, especially involving the underground economy.

That actually sounds pretty reasonable, depending on specifically what is banned. It's basically preventing banned/recalled products from being given to kids.

Other than it being illegal (and accordingly dangerous), there's the simple fact that excessive smoking neuters your ambition a lot of the time. It's also pricey, and for many people (myself included) feels pretty bad. Alcohol is where it's at.

pricey?

It's way way way cheaper than alchohol.

I just don't understand why it's illegal.

Pisses me off.

9000 people are going to die each year from food poisoning, but most people know you can't ban nuts and shrimp. Bee stings kill a few hundred each year, but we aren't out spraying DTD everywhere. It's a ridiculous mindset.

Oh, and all those sheltered kids from the 1970s through today? Yeah, they're adults now and you can easily see the effects from all the babying. No one is able to think for themselves anymore.

Couple questions, though I agree with much of what you're saying. Did you pick nuts and shrimp because of allergies? Is there some nut food poisoning thing going on I'm unaware of? What could be less likely to spoil or be bad than nuts?

As for the kids of the 1970s and even 80s being sheltered, that also seems like a bit of a stretch. Plenty of unsupervised kids running around doing their thing in those decades.

As for the no one thinking for yourself thing, if anything there's a little less of that these days, I'd say it was more common for parents to try to control everything about their child's future the further back you go.

I have no personal stake in it and could care less on that level, but if alcohol is legal weed definitely should be if that's where we've set the bar, alcohol is much more detrimental. for that matter half of the creepy **** big pharma comes up with should be banned, but they can pretty much do what they want with impunity since we have an openly bought government
