So, since Judi Dench is leaving the series, obviously M is dying.

Except the Daniel Craig bond movies are supposed to be prequels. Meaning she's going to be killed off, despite living in later stories.

How does this work O.o

Well Judi Dench being in the reboot movies never worked to begin with since M being a woman was established as being a new thing in Goldeneye. So at this point it doesn't matter what they do really.

This is one of many reasons why I just consider the Daniel Craig Bonds to be seperate from the rest.

I thought the Craig movies were more of a reboot than strict prequels. Or maybe they'll just say "different people are M at different times and this one happens to look identical to one much later in the series". It's not like it's any stranger than Bond changing appearance periodically and not aging in anything resembling a natural way.

This series is a reboot, its a new take on the start of Bond's career set in modern day, it was never a prequel to the old series.

Looking forward to this next flick.

Craig's Bond is a new continuity- it might work a bit like the Tomb Raider reboot, in the sense that we can assume that the events of games/films in the old timeine have happened/will happen, but almost certainly didn't/won't happen in quite the same way as the version we've already seen.

I remember an interview before Royale was released saying they fully acknowledged that casting Dench again made, like, no sense, but she was so good at it that they just had to.

I always liked the 'James Bond is a code name many agents have shared' idea that floats around.

Be great to see Pierce Brosnen come back as the villain sometime.
