Book(s) and/or movie, I guess. I know nothing about The Hunger Games, except that it's a dystopia future with kids killing each other, but I've never really heard a comparison from somebody who has seen/read both. I read Battle Royale probably 6 years ago, so my memory on that might be a bit vague, as well.

I haven't read the Battle Royale book, but the movie has next to nothing to do with the manga. The movie is far crappier

In Battle Royale the main aspect of the stories is the "kids killing each other" part. With Hunger Games the whole first third of the book is the events leading up to the killing, and even in the arena the whole killing aspect kind of takes a backseat to what the main character is going through. THG is a single narrative, you only know what the main character knows. If a character dies off screen and she doesn't know how, you don't know how either. With Battle Royale, most of the characters get some screen time and are fleshed out, that's not the case in THG, where the main character +a couple others are really the only ones to get characterization.

Also, I haven't read through all of them yet, but the other two books in THG series are more politically based. Even less focus on the arena/kids killing each other. Though that's always sort of in the background.

The manga was pretty cool, but if I remember correctly, the movie, book, and manga are all pretty different. The book was definitely my favorite out of the three.

They go about the whole "kids killing each other" thing in completely different ways. Hunger Games basically turns the whole thing into a crazy reality show.

The book and the manga are pretty similar. But yeah, that movie is garbage.
