I was at my local Subway and I ordered a Spicy Italian. Now I'm not big on pepperoni and salami, but I learned a neat trick back in high school. Get a sub that sucks and it's a riot.

The meat was as awful as usual, of course, but I was delighted to discover brown-tinted lettuce and cheese the consistency of I-don't-know-what. The mayonnaise was rancid and the bread was rock-solid but I didn't even toast the sandwich. The oregano was the color of pepper and the pepper tasted like a bad cigar.

Naturally, I chomped down without mercy. It was the most delicious thing I'd ever eaten.

I went to my local subway and I ordered Breaded Chicken on Whole Wheat with Black Olive and Lettuce and the ***** behind the counter was like "You can't get the Breaded Chicken without Marinara Sauce" and I said "Did I ask for Marinara Sauce?" and she said "Well it comes with Marinara Sauce" and I said "Well put the Marinara Sauce on the side and keep it" and she said "Well I have to charge you for it" and I said "I don't care what you charge me just make me the samich I'm asking for" and then her supervisor was like "He knows what he wants just make it"

Then we fist bumped and she looked really stupid. It was a great moment.

do you guys ever go to subway sometimes and the bread quality is really inconsistent

like, one time I will go there and the sandwich is pretty good. the bread is nice and. . .bready. then another time I will go there and the bread will be all hard and stale. not stale enough where you can complain and get your money back, but it just tastes inferior.

Not with Wheat which is what I usually get.
The white sometimes is a bit stale though iirc yeah

It also has to do with individual employees' bread-cooking competency levels.

I worked for Subway for a few months. It isn't a hard thing to get down, it's just that you've got to be able to multitask since customers will want to be served and the bread will want to be taken outta the oven before it explodes. That's all.
