I tried watching the Rangers game earlier but realized that I couldn't. I like the team, but right now I want them to lose. So I was very conflicted.

It seems you guys were acting like the Penguins were losing. But they won. What did they do wrong?

-a lot of them wear masks
-every once in a while some dude will approach you to practice his English with you

You all better start fearing the Devils in the playoffs! Our offense is suddenly scary good, 11 goals in the last two games. We got Travis Zajac back, it took a couple games of shuffling the lines to figure out what works, but it looks like we have them set now. We have some great balance in our lines now, all four lines playing well. Not only has Zajac strengthened our scoring, but he's also greatly strengthened our faceoff-winning ability. And Brodeur, despite his age, is still p laying outstanding right now, picking up another shutout tonight. Also, we're on pace to break the record for penalty kill percentage in a single season (by the way, we also have a league-leading 15 shorthanded goals).

Officially clinched a playoff spot tonight. LETS GO DEVILS!

Nope, I'll gladly take the Panthers in that series!

There is a decent sub-story in there though. Panthers fired Pete DeBoer after last season, he comes to New Jersey, and they meet in the playoffs this year!

I don't care about the story. The fact that one of those two teams is GUARANTEED to get to the second round offends me on a personal level. The Devils are probably good enough to deserve it, but there's no reason they should get such a gimme-opponent. The Panthers will almost certainly enter the playoffs as the least talented, most overachieving lucky *****es in the entire playoff field.
