I have only played the games here and there throughout the years, but I did enjoy the cutscenes. However, I could never tell if Jin was good or bad.

It's a little complicated. He started off as a relatively straight hero, but turned into a "I will get thousands of people killed in a crazy war and turn the world against me if it will stop a greater evil" character. That said, he's way more morally straight than the rest of his family.

The mishima family is cursed, so basically...in the first game, Kazuya is the good guy, but once the devil gene takes over, he is bad or morally grey all the time. Jin is then introduces as a new hero, but the same thing happens to him. None of them are really heroes beyond the game they are introduced. (tekken 1 and 3,respectively)
