like I said, I'm pretty bad at SF4. now you know I wasn't making it up! in a lot of ways I think it's the exact opposite of 3S. just not something I'm great at, but I don't mind playing it with people here.

With SFxT around, I'm not as dedicated to staying good at SF4, or improving from where I'm at. I really enjoy SFxT despite the problems it has. It's just a fun game.

Heihachi is dumb, and one of the problems with the balance, but I can take Heihachi. I think Lili's worse, honestly! That one combo and the cr. HK anti-air is just augh.

yeah Lili took a significant portion of my health with that one combo more than once

that's my biggest problem with the game honestly - that one hit leads to a long ass combo that takes half your health away. almost all characters have something like that. when you mix that in with the Tekken characters and their weird mixups, it can get ugly. when it's happening to you, you feel like you're getting punished far more than what your mistake was worth. "I guessed wrong on which direction to block once, now half my character is gone and there's 10 seconds off the clock." It's kind of silly.

but whatever. it has some issues but it's alright. I like it more as a team game. if I want a serious fighting game to care about, I've already got one and I sink a lot of time into it. sfxt is good enough to to spend some time having fun with, and it's a game a lot of B8 is playing (and pretty close to the same skill level it seems like) so it's ideal for our FG get togethers. can't really say that about any of the other FGs we play.

also I'm curious, since you guys haven't said anything - does Chun bother you? I would think the basic fireball/standing fierce zoning junk would get irritating pretty quick.

Not so much. I think it's a good tactic, and pretty much how Chun is always played. There are enough ways around it. It's tough with lag, though.

SFxT will be a process. I'm sure it'll improve as everyone plays it and patches release, or an expansion. SF4 took some time as well.

It overall looks good, but holy hell Tira's change list is long. I don't even know if she's buffed or nerfed.

Man I wish I was particularly good with someone other than Rolento (aside from sort of being able to play Julia). I want to pull a Combofiend and drop him to pick a character everyone else isn't using (despite really liking him), but everyone else either feels like a bad fit for me, or has execution requirements that I just can't meet. Might try to pick Dhalsim up (he was my #3 in Super), but considering my biggest problem has been getting out of pressure that might not be the best idea!


Also, Weaku, we really need to play at some point.

the patch is kind of weird

nerfing lots of characters that weren't very good to begin with, as well as a bunch of pretty random changes here and there. viola buffs all over the place.

regardless, this patch is way too early and was completely unnecessary. hopefully they wait at least half a year before touching it again.
