it's one of the few things in Alaska that could rightfully be called a city I think. with the exception of Fairbanks and Juneau most other towns are really small.

Oh yeah, definitely. I was curious if we had one here and wanted to start one if we didn't. I'm probably bad at most of the games they play if they play the new ones, but who knows. Yeah it'd be cool to find out who they are.

I've been thinking of investigating all the different ways to play CvS2 online to see if any of them are passable. If I find anything good, you interested? Obviously lag between us and emulator input lag itself will be a concern, but who knows. Might find something good. Preliminary candidates are playing the arcade version through a Naomi emulator or playing the PS2 version through PCSX2, but I'll keep investigating to see if there's anything else. I know those both have netplay at least.

(if any of you other CvS2 fans wanna get in on this that would be sick too)

I like SFxT, yeah.

I think there are some apparent technical issues (sound online, 360 controller, 360 co-op) that should hopefully be fixed at some point. It's poor on Capcom's part that the game was released in the current state. I hesitate to say 'rushed,' but it needs a patch.

My feelings on the game itself are that it's fun despite all the problems. Some characters are overpowered, some combos are too good, timing out in win or loss sucks... But I'm still having a good time. I'm not great at the game (1000BP only), but my opinion is higher now than it was a few days ago. Initially, I wasn't too happy with. Tekken characters, mid attacks, cross rushes, combos, gems... It just didn't make sense, it wasn't SFIV. I'm fine with it now, though. I have a better handle on the game, some of the characters, and how it all works. Wins feel good, losses aren't as frustrating.

This definitely won't be as popular as SFIV, but hopefully people stick with it instead of retreating back to something more familiar.

I'm really glad I got all my losing at sfxt out of the way versus you guys first and waited on going into ranked mode. Now my record in there stands at 24-12 and I'm feeling pretty good

except against heihachi who I have lost against every time I've faced him.

Yup. Kinda heavy on the input lag though. More than usual, I'd say. More than a few people have mentioned it. It might still end up being the best option though.

I actually like the Lili/Asuka combo. It helps that they're the only ones I feel comfortable playing right now. I'll probably stick with it.

What's a good Phoenix Wright team in UMvC3? I wanna troll ranked.

Dante is a good partner for Wright. His Jam Session assist helps keep people right the hell off and there's good DHC synergy.

I also like She-Hulk on point with a Wright team. Between DHCs and stuns, there's a lot of opportunities to get Phoenix in.

yup SFxT

he said dp didn't work. I suggested alpha counter but he didn't have any meter. didn't try backdash though, might bug him to play me again and see if that works. that cannot be unstoppable tech.

I guess it's because everyone takes it for granted, but I was wondering why the arcade style fightsticks are considered so superior to a console gamepad.

it's hard to do some stuff on pad because your thumb can only cover so many buttons

it's why people use punchx3 and kickx3 macros so much, because that'd be tough on any kind of pad

also for kara throws it's way easier on stick. like Chun's kara throw in 3S is medium kick and throw all near the same time. that's three buttons and tough to accomplish on pad.

also really fast combos become easier on stick sometimes

Kazuya is cruise control.

His BnB does about as much as everyone else's swag combos.

Nina's pretty fun too.

For some reason, this game is less Street Fighter, more Tekken for me.

Yeah, Kazuya's pretty dumb. That one combo is so punishing for so little.

I had a 15 game win streak going in SFxT ranked, felt unbeatable. But now I've entered a bunch of matches where people run all day and rely on super long blocked combos to run the clock. Asuka has some crazy long crap.

I had someone run that jab jab jab jab jab strategy on me and I could not figure out a good way to win. It was super frustrating. Then I played two Vegas and he is just super annoying in this game, Vega can run from most people all day long.

my friend and I ran the jabs thing for a bit

sometimes you can jump backwards and get some space, sometimes you can fit jabs between his jabs, backdash wasn't especially useful though it was better than blocking. raw launcher of course does not work at all since you're standing.

my personal technique for getting out met with a reasonable amount of success: mash dat DP

if anyone does the standing jab thing we should all try mashing DP and see how that works.

I think there were a couple things you could do if you had meter as well. but getting meter can be a little tricky when they're jabbing you from the beginning.
