I'm sure the dialogue is going to be pretty Japanese-Drama cheesy at parts, but the fighting looks good.

I actually started watching the manga (again) a few weeks ago. Just got through the Shishio Arc.

I wonder how much the movie is going to cover. I saw Saito and Aoshi, but not too much more. I'm guessing until shortly before the Shishio arc begins.

my memory is fuzzy, but i doubt they'll go much further than that. otherwise it will just be too much content for a single movie.

(spoilers and stuff)

Right, even getting to Saito is kind of surprising to me, unless they are skipping the battle against Jinei. (Which maybe they are, because I didn't see him at all)


basically:

-Kenshin shows up, breaks Gohei's fingers (the guy pretending to be him

-Subplot introducing Yahiko?

-Sano shows up (as Zanza) and they deal with their issues.
Question: Will they even delve too much into the sekihoutai? That's a lot of backstory just for zanza.

-One day megumi shows up, triggers the Oniwaban arc, while they worked for Kanryu. (guy with the gatling gun)
But this arc takes a little while. The fight with Kyotoko, and Beshimi poisons Yahiko. Then the fight with Shikijo, then the fight with Hanya, then the fight with Aoshi, then the fight with the gatling gun.


And THEN the Jinei part which I assume they are skipping now.

And THEN Saito shows up quite a bit later under the guise of Jinei's replacement. (While he's really working for the police)

Based off the trailer I'm guessing they are going to diverge from the manga's plot a lot.

I'm also thinking some of those action scenes are flashbacks.

Shishio arc's one of the greatest arcs of anything of all time. Though I can understand why they can't cover it in the first movie... here's hoping for a sequel?

Frankly I don't know why Kenshin didn't get the FMA:Brotherhood treatment, they could replace the post-Shishio crap with what actually happened in the manga?

Legit though, lets have Kenshin credentials matches folks. I own all the DVDs, got them and watched em with peeps monthly as they were released. Own all the volumes of the manga. Have several Kenshin posters and wallscrolls still up to this day. Have a Kenshin reversed blade sword on my mantle. Also coincidentally he passed his name onto me to spread the word to B8. Also I live my life by his teachings.
