They're unhappy with the ending, which I feel is a legitimate stance. 5/10 is still a little low though.

See, I notice that there's a less in terms of "choices" than any other game in the series. I could understand how that would upset some fans, but the trade off is that the story, dialogue, and character interactions are so much better. I'll gladly sacrifice a little bit of "role-playing" to have an overall better experience. I don't need to go up to Grunt for the 20th time and find out he has absolutely nothing new to say.

This is why I think BioWare is climbing the ranks of awful fanbases.

True, there's a lot of people unhappy with the ending. But saying the entire game sucks due to that? Seems silly to me.

Besides, it can't be denied that people love to trash Bioware for any perceived slight now. They release one game that the internet hates way more than it deserves (DA2) and suddenly they're the worst company ever and if you like them you're a Biodrone. Shows the side of the gaming community that I hate the most.

So I was in the middle of what I guess is the run up to the grand finale. Walking around, talking to everyone, game crashed. Kind of want to get back to it but it's so late. We'll see after I get something to drink. But. But! Aboard the Normandy, before going to Earth.

not really spoilers I guess just a neat surprise but whatever

Garrus and Tali in the battery room aww yeah. My inner teenage girl shipper self would prefer Tali with Kal'Reegar but he's apparently dead what the hell Bioware. But Garrus is good people. I feel like father approving of his daughter's boyfriend here.

But in alternate universes where Shepard for some silly reason didn't romance Tali, then Garrus would naturally be the only other perfect one for her.

I just finished the Cerberus assault on the Citadel. Are all those Citadel subquests from earlier automatically ended now? I really wanted to do those, especially the one with Kasumi.

Or it shows that's there's repercussions for not responding to matters urgently.

I even remember one character saying "You should do this as soon as possible." I didn't heed his warning, so I had to travel 5 hours back in time to complete his quests!

Man.....been playing the hell out of this in the last 24 hours....

I just finished Rannoch and *SPOILERS*

The VR segment where you get to see what really happened between the Geth and the Quarrians was awesome. Legion sacrificing himself for the Geth to obtain individuality was just....wow. I wish there had been more conversation there before he did it but oh well.

I've got Geth and Quarrians working together, and Rachni on the crucible with everyone.... loving it.

<END SPOILERS

I'm not to the end yet, but there's one underlying emotion I've had the entire time I've been playing.....which is sadness. Knowing that this is going to be the last game in the series....I mean....I don't know the ending yet, so Idk if there are any open questions, so...

I do know one thing though....

After what I've played so far, I demand a Mass Effect MMO on the 360. I know almost everyone will disagree, but after seeing how much fun the MP is (even if it's very simplistic)....I'd love it.

>_>

Redoing five hours of a game is not something to be praised. It's a video game. Just have the volus say "phew earth clan, I can't believe I was lucky enough to hide from Cerberus! Now, about my side quest."

It's. A. Game. I can't believe we still get dumb design choices like this in 2012 with mega-budget titles. Unless the game makes it absolutely, unambiguously clear that certain quests will be unavailable after certain parts, then they should always be available. I managed to 100% ME2 during my first playthrough because the designers were smarter about this stuff.

I don't feel like it's a dumb design choice. It encourages you to clear up side quests as soon as possible rather than letting them linger. Especially since the missable side quests are incredibly simple: go to a planet, scan the planet, return the item to said person.

Mini SPOILERS

See, that's one thing I'm not liking about this game. For some reason, it's more... I guess one word is "ambiguous" than ME2. I didn't even know where to begin with the Kasumi side quest, and there were a few others like that as well. Plus, I didn't want to do too many sidequests at the start because I wanted to tackle them with my Tali/Liara tandem from ME1. Had I been clearly, unambiguously encouraged to complete them because they could be inaccessible later, I would have done them ASAP.

And anyway, why SHOULD people be encouraged to knock side quests out of the way immediately? Is that, like, a thing that should just happen for the sake of... what, exactly. That damn side quest should be around whenever I want to be unless, once again, the game CLEARLY tells me that it won't be and that I should tackle it yesterday.

Because they wanted repercussions for inaction. You choose not to help people right away? Fine, but there reaches a point where you can no longer help these people. I don't think that's a dumb decision. I don't think it's a great decision, either, but I really have no problem with it. Ambiguity in gaming is fine, there's too many games (Mass Effect 2 included) that will hand hold you the whole way and make things way too easy, rather than letting yourself learn on your own and be rewarded/punished accordingly. Personally, I welcome Mass Effect 3's decision to be less straight forward. It offers more chances to misstep, to make mistakes, to make a playthrough more interesting. That's kinda how gaming should work, IMO. Making mistakes while playing, then correcting those mistakes on further playthroughs. I didn't beat Sonic the Hedgehog 2 the first time I played it, but after learning from mistakes I made on my own, I understood the game better and progressed through further until I eventually beat it. Obviously, this will not hold you back from beating it, but it means if you playthrough it again, you have further knowledge that will let you play through it again in a different way. I don't know, that's just my personal opinion. That's why I'm perfectly fine with time limits, even if they're unknown.

By the way, the volus does say he wants the Shadow Broker team extracted as soon as possible. So it's understandable that after a while, that quest would just disappear.

What? No way. FYI, proper procedure for taking down a shielded enemy as Vanguard is CHARGE -> Nova to take down what is left of their shields, and then Shotgun/BIOTIC ARM for the kill. Then you go charge at someone else to get your shields back. You usually have to play VERY aggressively for maximum effectiveness.

Yeah I know, but still. I guess I just haven't played Vanguard in a while and with other classes I'm used to having Overload and stuff like that.

Also Shockwave to knock an enemy out of cover and then he floated because that's a perk I put in my Shockwave and it was so beautiful because I was moving to Claymore him out of existence but Javik was like LET ME DO THIS and he Slammed the poor floating guy down into OBLIVION!

It was perfect.

I can understand yoblazer's frustration. I wanted to get Tali so I could run through those missions with her and get some extra dialogue, too, but it's an understandable game mechanic. It's certainly not like ME3 is the only RPG where you only have a limited amount of time to do a sidequest anyway.

I think the problem is that the same could technically apply to the story missions as well. Each mission you get they talk about how urgent it is.

"Oh yeah, the turian fleet is just getting decimated by Reapers and they really need Krogan support, but sure, yeah, go do sidequests. The turians aren't going anywhere, but Jack is."

Not rescuing him period could potentially have a negative impact and completely prevent you from being able to do something later, but a lot of that is tied up into decisions you made in ME2.

Adrenaline rush + a few shots through the slot in the shield.

I haven't had any problems with them except at the very beginning of the game before I had a decent assault rifle and was having to use a pistol to shoot through the slot.
