I absolutely adore the system so far, and I don't need everyone else to love it in order for me to like it, however I do know it needs to sell well in order for developers to make more games for it. Do you think it will do well enough to have a decent life-span?
I will honestly be a happy man if I can just get these by the time the Vita is done.

no. Handheld systems have more competition. The vita and 3DS should be a success if they diversify their library with more than just remakes. But to say the vita will sell 75 mill (current PSP sales) or the 3DS will sell 150 mill (what the DS has sold to this point) with smartphones and tablets being much more casual friendly....eh i just dont see it. I dont see the 3DS or Vita having nearly as much consistent longevity.

Tough to say. A price drop + memory bundle would help, but games are the big thing. It needs a system seller like FF or Metal Gear, which it just doesn't have right now. The games it does have certainly look more interesting than the 3DS, though.

Other than Ys IV remake can't think of single game that looks like a system seller to me. Uncharted might be good to get once it hits $20
Well, yeah, I just said that! The 3DS has Mario, but its second tier isn't that great, at least in my opinion. I think there are quite a few Vita games that look fun, but they aren't 'system seller' quality. If Vita could pick up Type-0 in the West, that'd help make the system more appealing.

Though it has a bad start, would say better. It'll do better in the US and about the same everywhere else. Won't do remotely as well as the 3ds, but if nintendo does right by it, much like they're doing now, it could even beat its predecessor, though that's quite difficult. Still, vita will have similar legs to itself as the psp, so doing around the same wouldn't be surprising once the price drops a good amount. If all goes well for it, might beat the gba.
