Just finished the game. Heard we can talk about the "ending" in here. Haven't read through too much of the previous discussion so pardon my intrusion. Just the most recent page or so.
Is making a proper end to a story really that hard without delving into the metaphysical deus ex bull****? I guess so. I mean, this thing the simplest ending possible: Shepard destroys the Reapers and everyone lives happily ever after. But no. This is why we can't have nice things. Also I wasn't to use the final persuasion options on TIM. What gives? My reputation was maxed and then some. Not paragon enough? -- . ... Copied to Clipboard!

Know what pissed me off this time around? I accidentally romanced Liara and couldn't go back to Tali because they introduced Tali too goddamn late in the game.
And I would have wanted to fight Harbinger. I wanted to pretend he was the Reaper that I stared down on Rannoch. After that fight I was hoping I would be killing Harbinger with the Crucible at the end :( Would have loved an ending where I was reunited with my crew, maybe right after the Reapers were destroyed and my two team members helping me stand up, me with my smashed helmet exposing my face, staring down on the Earth as the Reapers plunge down on the planet as great fireballs. -- Witty sig about SuperNiceDog winning the guru ... From: baron von toast | #401 My girlfriend had this problem and I heard a lot of other people did as well. You probably either didn't do enough sidequests or didn't talk to your squadmates enough...or something else that affects Reputation. You definitely don't need to be 100% Paragon or Renegade. I was at something like 1/3 Renegade 2/3 Paragon and I was able to do it fine. You just need max Reputation. If you really wan tto know what happens, not much changes. TIM pulls a Saren and there's a nice scene with Anderson before he dies anyways. -- You have no time to ponder such questions, as Link has just grabbed a Smash Ball. http://backloggery.com/herodeltiempo/sig.gif ... I definitely had max rep. I spent what I felt to be an inordinate amount of time talking to my squadmates and did every sidequest I could find. I think I missed the item for one and it lapsed after the coup, but I certainly did everything else.
Speaking of sidequests, something else I wanted to inquire about. Minos Wasteland (I think) was flashing for me as though it had a mission but there was nothing there. A planet was marked with its name but had no mission and nothing to scan for. What's up with that? -- . ... Copied to Clipboard!

That happened to me too. It was bothering me for the longest time, because I had a sidequest sitting there for longer than I thought it should be, and it was the only one left (Cerberus Ciphers) and I was worried the game glitched and I needed to go there for it. I didn't, but that didn't fix anything with that planet. I have no idea what was going on there. -- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? You buy the ciphers at the Spectre terminal. I couldn't find out how to get the Benning evidence, maybe I could have bought it at the Spectre terminal too >_> Nah, you can get the Ciphers from this one planet that Traynor gives you, I think. It was the very last sidequest I got, between Rannoch and Cerberus HQ, AFAIK. I think the Spectre Terminal acts as a backup in case you miss something important on a planet, since you can't return there to pick it up. But I'm not 100% sure on that. I know right after Rannoch I went to the Terminal and it showed a Geth item of some sort, and if you read the description it says something like "Pretend you got this on Rannoch." and I got it so I could finish a sidequest. As for the Benning Evidence, when you actually land on Benning for a sidequest, you can find a Dog Tag on the ground there somewhere and pick it up, and it's the quest item. I know I had to reload and retry the mission for that because I realized after the first time I cleared the mission, "...Wait a second, I was supposed to get something here, wasn't I?" -- xp1337: Don't you wish there was a spell-checker that told you when you a word out? I only chose Synthesis because it was the shortest walk. I chose it because it seemed like it was the least bad option, by a slight margin. Destroy would be unequivocally the best, if not for the fact that it would kill the Geth and EDI, IMO. Honestly, I feel like you could make an argument for Control as it is, but that it was TIM's goal the entire time just kind of... makes it feel wrong. Synthesis has its own problems, IMO, but eh... In my mind, it turns out that the Crucible was actually a way to turn the Citadel into a giant fighting robot, and the final boss fight is you wrestling Harbinger on Earth, which destroys most of it but looks super cool. Then you fly through the galaxy and pierce the reapers with your drill. Because why the hell not, they're already basically the anti-spirals.
